No, nothing to do with business.
Maybe with mindset.

I bought an old house over 25 years ago With my wife.
The plan was to live cheap, save money and get a good house than.
One to the other... in the end we renovated the house and planned to safe some money and get a better house anywhere.
But now we have a social network here and we love it. We grew up our kids and the renovation appeared so good, that the house is still good.
When the kids will have their own place in the world And move out, it will be a big house, too.

But: I dreamt of a big garage and it resisted me to spend money and work to that.
So my cars stand in a narrow carport or without anything and I don’t have a workshop to repair or renovate cars.

So now after planing a big garage for years, we decided to build it. Build, with the help of friends, not let it build.

And I don’t want to get a loan for it. Maybe, it will go a bit slower than.

What do you think of that project?
Regarding fastlane philosophy it may be wrong spending money there, as I m still on the slowlane.

I would use the money to invest in your business. You waited for so long, so why the rush?

Maybe in a one or two years you can build a garage every month with the income from your business.
Well, maybe you are right.
But I m afraid, that money isn’t the issue of my business, but do the right actions.

I think it is good idea, really. You will invest in your own house and avoid paying rent. I also have a house and I want to make landscape project, nowadays it is very simple. For example you can use and save money on materials. By the way there are many other tools and blogs on this site which can help you.

All the place seen behind the cars should get the garage.
The plan is not only to park the Cars, bikes .., but also be able to fix them and do maintenance. Not only for ours.

There was a break while my buddy, who helps me removing the old shed, had to mind his businesses.
But today we had a fun day of going on removing.
Now there is place for the new building.
Now first there are some acts I will not do myself. Big machines are not my favorite.

Ther will be a toilet in our garage. I m thinking about a shower, too. Maybe when my wife wants to get rid of me, I move out to my bikes. ;)

When the concrete base plate is ready, I will first build the bike part. With a bike lift, a workbench and lot of shelfes.

The car part is a bit depending building permit.
It should have some car lifts and lot of space to make a party or so..::)

Took a long time to get further.
I had contracted with a business friend to make the earthwork.
As he had full order books, I was the last to get.
So the last days he did some work. Due to the lockdown here it will get spring until something big will happen.
But now I know : I need an own small excavator

Another months gone due to building regilations, Covid and the temperatures of Winter.

A problem rose: getting all craftsmen together in a time pisses me of.
SO Ibought some k € machines planing doing all the expensive things myself.

did you know smoothing concrete is 50€ per squaremeter plus material?
And the next termin is Mai ?

Well I have learned a mindset and bought the machines. My garage will be my learning project.

And from the time I decided to do all myself I feel much better.

Still no permission.
But I I know some people now, so I ll go on.
My motivation is at a low level now.
I have to be happy about every material I need. Prices explode.

Ing, of course, it's all about the climate, where you live. But based on my needs, I was paying a lot of attention to insulation process of the garage.

Meanwhile I have the permission and I love to work on the garage as a time off.
The machines I bought havent be at me since March . They are going around my village bringing in some reward. No straight cash flow, but a kind of barter. Car service, goods, beer, oil and so on as a tax free reward. A fine kind of passive income.
I had a lot of job offers building /repairing buildings. I dont do that though.

We've built a lot around here. We've built a 30'X50' shop for my husband and other out buildings. My husband is steps away from his shop. It's his pride and joy. We built it from a kit and it took us a summer to complete. I know you will love yours too.

Slowly going on.
Due to some health problems not as far as I wanted to be. But quite pleased with the progress.
My son already looks forward having space for his businesses.

Honestly I remember this post quite often. But I must admit, that building the garage is something I can do. Building a business sadly is not.

It's a learned skill set. You can do it IF you just take step by step and keep trying.

Times for building are tough.
I m Waiting for the roof now nearly 3 months.

Costs for building stuff explode.

Some friends, who wanted to build houses don’t, because costs nearly doubled in a year.

Btw: I didn’t buy the truck. Its a friends truck he lends me some weeks for the crane to mount the roofing. I hope it will arrive soon.

A small update: inside is quite near to be finished.
Today my son did his first entrepreneurial car maintenance job. Means the first euros are earned with it.
