Hi everyone,

A computer repair friend of mine who often tunes up PC's for local residents and businesses told me to just use Avast in order to keep my computer running fast, but there has to be more to it than that. Also currently using Galaxy Utilities 5 but have not noticed much of an improvement.
If you don't mind me asking, what programs and firewall work best for you in order to keep your PC running fast?

I uninstall programs with Revo Uninstaller and then clean using CCleaner. Security is Malwarebytes and windows defender. All free for personal use.

Use Firefox for web browser. Just as many features as Chrome without the RAM destroying background processes.

Solving Pain
To get fast computer:
-Delete all the bloat on your computer.
-Use something simple like Malwarebytes.
-turn off that stupid animated part of the windows 10 menu.
-allow javascript only websites you visit often.
-see if you can swap out for an SSD instead of regular hard drive
-Have a computer with 8+ gigs of ram and at least an i5 processor or better.

If it is still slow, switch to a simple Linux distro like Ubuntu or Linux Mint. I've taken slow computers and made them run like brand new with this method. (it is easier than it sounds)
