To me; this speaks louder than a failing magazine. This is a direct reflection of the economy. They say we are out or coming out of the recession; I don't believe it or see it.

This mag was aimed at small biz owners. Business is super slow right now and hurts the bottom line of small business. Less bottom line means owners are paid less. Biz owners have less to spend means no sales. No sales means the 400-500 people lay off. Lay off means more people with no money to spend. More people with less to spend results back to slow business for small biz owners....

Well... many magazines are hurting and most because they aren't willing to cross media.

I think Wildflower hit the nail on the head there.

Magazines had a monopoly on consistently updated, quality information for a while. That is the case no longer.

However, I think if the magazine publishers really took their pre-established brands, turned them into tribes/families/tight groups, and gave them an easier place to interact (i.e. online forums) they could really turn things around.

But, I don't think they will. I'm going to get to it first!
