Hi there!
I have been lurking here for about a year and think the time to join has come.
Have some artistic skills in 2d/3d also.
Tried several times to start and maintain an outsourcing agency for IT niches, but it seemed like there was little demand and A LOT of supply with stunningly low rates. Clients DID NOT WANT premium products for fair prices but they JUST NEEDED the cheapest as possible to maintain their margins. So it was a race to a dead end.
So why not sell legal drugs?
And yeah, I checked out similar game dev posts here, and I am aware that almost all of them have drowned in the development hell and disappeared, and yes, I know why.
Rule#1: No 2D platformers
Rule#2: No cheap pixel art
Maybe another 'modern' AAA (like Ubisoft or EA making each year)? Of course not.
Cool high-quality-dark-multiplayer-RPG-crafting-survival game? Yes, you want it I know, but I also know that's a sweet trap for fresh studios, so I`d rather start small instead.
Rule#3: No long-term development as a solo
Then what?
VR. The niche is still fresh and the new headset from Meta made VR more affordable for the average user and the new display and controls are decent!
VR games in Steam and Meta store have a good number of sales overall, and competition in general and in my sub-niche is ridiculous from my perspective.
So I decided to go all in and bought all the needed tech equipment for development.
Over the past six months, I have made a gameplay core that provides a new exciting experience that I have never seen before.
And now finishing Steam page and working on other official pages to send traffic to.
2) Steam release (No EarlyAccess)
3) Meta store release
I'm interested to hear what you guys think, so feel free to share your opinions!
And remember, whoever you are, NO FRIDAY PIZZA!

About me
I am 27yo, have been programming since middle school, dived into game development 7yrs ago, and have been working commercially as a Game Developer for about 4 years now.Have some artistic skills in 2d/3d also.

Why the hell Games?
I see the game development industry as a bigass drug dealer and games as legal drugs that cover one of the basic NEEDS of humanity very well - entertainment (sometimes health and sex also). So why not sell legal drugs?
