I think it also happened in New York a few years ago. Not sure of the details.

If I am reading this correctly, if I were to hit an affiliate site owned by someone in Colorado and I purchased something to ship to Colorado, someone would get charged a sales tax because my sale is technically generated by company in Colorado?

However, if I went directly to Amazon.com and just bought the same product and shipped to Colorado, I wouldn't get charged sales tax??

So the end result is that the customer will sometimes get charged sales tax? or Amazon would have to eat the sales tax and say it's included in the price to provide a consistent store face?
