Hello, my name is Hadrian.
I’m 18 years old studying engineering in college. After being a shy video game, porn, and junk food addict with a spoiled and bad personality for a long time, I got onto self improvement and have drastically improved my mental health, confidence, social skills, and fell in love with the gym. I found the whole drop shipping craze a few months ago and spent months obsessing about unimportant stuff for my store, like changing the website design 15 times and trying to make instagram ads with puns, with no real value given. Grand total = $15. After that, I’be spent the past few months mentally masturbating and “researching”. Now I’m constantly overthinking everything, and it’s leading me to make stupid irrational decisions. Part of me thinks “f school and all these slowlanners, I’ll drop out and retire my parents and become a millionaire in 4 years!”. Part of me also thinks I should switch to an easier major so I have time to work on businesses, but still get an okay job and won’t be homeless if I fail. But both of these I think are fueled by ego and delusion and are “events”, and would lead to me being an unemployed bum with nothing to show for himself. I think the logical and smart choice is to stay in engineering, not waste the opportunity my parents have provided for me, and try different ways to provide value and start businesses on the side. This way if nothing I do on the side makes money, I still can land a good job out of college and have money to put into more business ideas, and college is the perfect environment to improve social skills. Logical and great plan, but I’m still overthinking it and questioning myself, and it’s gotten me stuck. So please advise me, how to stop getting emotionally invested into thoughts and overthinking about plans and the best trajectory of my life, and just stick to a life and goal plan consistently?
