My first fictional book and holy shit, it gave me a new perspective of life, which i haven't gotten from any self help, entrepreneurial, that kind of books.
A short stay in hell by Steven L Peck, a short 100 pages book.
A dead man, gets sent into a hell, which is an infinite? library containing every possible book and has to find a book containing his entire life written without any errors to escape.
It depicts what "infinite time" actually means, a good way to understand "forever"
my key takeaway,
enjoy your life and be in the present
"Remeber nothing lasts forever. Someday this will be a distant memory"
makes me not want to scroll reels anymore.
Why u might ask? existential horror.
because let's say, when u r alive, u have a collective consciousness; after u die, it might fade away into abyss. Most probably just a black screen? lol
and why I am saying this? because try to remember what it felt like before u were born?
The atoms of your body did exist during 1000s of years ago, but it was just nothing for you, blank screen?
but now you are conscious, for 100 years if you are lucky. then back to being that random atom till the end of the universe.
and the book captures what that "forever" might feel like.
Your life is precious because it ends.
The infinity is boring and monotonous.
It's not very mind shattering book tho, it depends from perspective you are trying to read to book, , just curiosity, looking for a lesson, philosophy.
self interpretation
Watch these YouTube video if u want to get excited about that lol, because I found out through yt, watched the videos first, then bought and read the book in a day lmao
this video is how I came across the book for the first time (the first part of the video only)
