ya. delayed again.

but its my fault.

I was wrong on the timing.

I dug through old emails. and found the proper time frame. I don't know where I got the other time frame from.

I didn't take into account the amount of samples that needed to be approved. and the actual production time is a bit longer as well, which was stated in an older email.

so. I have to just be patient. and stop stressing.

I've been told. that when building a product from scratch. these time frames are not unusual.

only over time when relationships are built. time frames improve.

now.

I'm not stressing about release anymore. I get them when I get them.

I'm gonna work on my relationship with my supplier and build trust.

Hey Vick,

Just so you have this for future reference, in case you do decide at some point to switch vendors: moving that mold isn't rocket science, but it's not trivial either. We have a 1-up injection mold for a similar-sized item, and you're looking at a couple of hunks of metal that are suitcase-sized, but about 400 lb total. So you're at least at two guys, and not insignificant freight charges. Just wanted to put that out there.

Congrats on the progress, but more importantly, congrats on overcoming the mental hurdle with the PUTFPtm piece!

After my discussion with someone.

They advised me to stay with the manufacturer for a few runs.

Again.

I got confused about dates and sample approvals. So it's mostly my fault on the predicted Launch date.

So I won't be switching manu's if all goes well within the next 6-12 months.

Got my 8 samples tonight.

Not one of them is right.

I don't even know what to say.

I'm so pissed.

I'm pouring a F*ckin drink.

If I'm up to it later I'll post some pics of the samples.

Those are really awesome looking sunglasses!

As a prescription glasses wearer, one of the problems I have is that I can't wear really curved sunglasses like those with the prescription I have. :( And I hate wearing contacts. Would be nice if there's a solution to this.

I'm correcting the problem. They just messed up the colors.

The quality is still very good.

The packaging was nice.

They nailed everything except getting the colors right.

There are few tiny changes that need to be made concerning the color schemes. But this is a design change I'm doing because I liked how the Matte Black ones turned out.

I see clearly now why only 1% make it.

Vick, these challenges are the stories on which success is built. You are building a back-story. The problems and challenges are apart of that story. If they didn't exist, there wouldn't be a story. With no challenges, everyone would be living in the promise-land. When I see these bumps in the road and huge swaths of turbulence I actually believe that your odds of success are going up. No huge success story is as simple as "I called a manufacturer and 5 weeks later I had some cool shades."

The person you are becoming is changing from the guy who started this whole thing, ya know, that guy that wouldn't pick up the phone to save his life.

Keep steaming ahead. Play it through. See what the market says.

What are the next three items on your agenda? When will these be ready to sell?

Minor bumps in the road, brother. Keep pushing forward! Make daily progress!

Regarding the manufacturing tool issue for moldin machine, the tool should be yours, because you paid for it, unless the agreemt is different, but I would be surprised. Normally the tools belongs to the customer.

So. Me and the wife went over all the samples this weekend And sent our email for the changes to be made.

We decided to leave the Matte Black ones as is. We both agreed that the Silver lettering looked pretty cool against the matte black. So the pair seen in this image will be the final Matte black.

The others are being fixes. With minor changes to each.

Vick, if i may ask, what about the glass, does it necessary uv filters and will they be available with polarized glass?
Which glass darkness (sorry, dont know the proper english word for it) category have you chosen?

I personally do not buy unpolarized glasses.

yes. all our lenses are polarized. 7 layer lens tech. Moisture and scratch resistance, 100% UVA/UVB protection up to 400 nanometers, etc.

So I've been back and forth with my Manu quite a bit, learning what I can and cant do. Turns out that there are certain restrictions when painting these things. I'm not gonna go through and explain everything. But basically I had to redesign almost all of them to suit the manufacturing process. Except for the solid colors like Matte Black and Matte White. I also decided to Matte out all the 'metal' pieces cause it looks sick.

So, below is our new lineup.

I pretty much had no choice, I had to change things otherwise they would've all turned out badly. I also replaced 2 color schemes with 2 new ones, because the other 2 were just not different enough and did not look good.

Because I like the Matte finish a lot, I decided to make 4 pairs Matte and 4 pairs Gloss. Below you will see what ones are Matte.

I might piss off a lot of people who reserved, but again, I had no choice, I had to redesign accordingly. I hope they understand. If not, then there's 100 million other people who haven't seen them yet.

To be honest. I kinda like the new lineup now.

I don't see how you can lose with these. I like the matte black red and matte gray yellow the best. Stay the course, you have a winner here.
