Hi everyone,
I've never been active on the forum, although I've been lurking for the last 2-3 years. As of today I'm a 1st year college student in Germany at the country's best business school.
My problem is that I'm still not able to pay for myself. As a younger kid I always worked somewhere and was almost completely financially independent from my mother.
However, this changed when I moved to Germany (I'm Bulgarian). She always insisted that I go to college and honestly I don't regret it. But right now she's the one paying for my life here and I probably don't need to tell you that the salaries in Bulgaria are about three to four times lower than here. So she's struggling.
Right now I have about 2 months' worth of money in my account. I can't go back home after all it's taken me to get here. But I have to figure things out.
I'm currently working a part-time job which pays for about half of my monthly expenses. I've been thinking about what other alternatives I have:
I'm open to any advice you guys might have. Just to add a little context - My goal for the next 2-3 years (besides getting my Bachelor's) is to start a marketing company which focuses on design identity. This might be another reason to keep pursuing this design thing.

I'm currently working a part-time job which pays for about half of my monthly expenses. I've been thinking about what other alternatives I have:
- I can write well - I've won a couple of writing competitions in my home country and I went to a high-school for foreign languages where I had to write essays everyday, but I don't have any experience as a freelance writer. I don't even know where to start and honestly I'm a little scared to do it (wrong mindset, I know, but it's human)
- I've been taking a graphic design course - this is a freelance career that I'd be more interested in pursuing, but building the skills I need will probably take me at least 4 more months of intensive work to get where I need to be in order to work as a freelancer. I don't know if I have that time.
- Finding a second job - this one is probably the safest one, but I've no idea if I'll still be able to spend enough time studying and pursuing my "side-hustles". I feel like I'll be trapped. But then again, I'm trapped now anyway.
I'm open to any advice you guys might have. Just to add a little context - My goal for the next 2-3 years (besides getting my Bachelor's) is to start a marketing company which focuses on design identity. This might be another reason to keep pursuing this design thing.
