Thanks for the info!

Adding my 0.02... I would discourage everyone from using GoDaddy.
Absolutely... stay... away... from GoDaddy.

Remember you were warned.

BlueHost.com is recommended. :)

I will recommend everyone to buy domain at GoDaddy.

Don't fall for the $1 domain and move your web hosting to them. GoDaddy's web hosting is really not that powerful.

If you are using that for a landing page site or static site without intense database queries, you are safe to use GoDaddy. If you are running Wordpress, Forum or e-commerce, forget about GoDaddy.

We use GoDaddy a LOT to buy domains. Cheap, and fast.

We never host w/them tho.

But for buying domain names, we've never had a problem.

I recently registered (and hosted) a domain at GoDaddy.

I found it was too easy to be upsold on all manner of things but it was far too difficult to use their control panel to manage my email account and host my password protected blog (I wanted to use the blog as a portable to do list and organiser).

I ended up being fed up with their control panel so much that I decided to get a refund on my hosting. It took my no more then 2 minutes on the phone to receive a full refund, I certainly won't host with them anymore but that kind of customer service impressed me so much that I would not use anyone else to register domains in the future.

Good info :)

Question: Is there a minimum period that you have to leave the domain over at GoDaddy?
I was under the impression that it's 3 months or something along those lines.
