I am a little sad after finishing the book. Maybe it's because the book is aimed at younger people and I am already close to 50.
Sad? You sound like the typical over achiever to me, who has problems seeing how far they've come to date. To track my progress, I have to keep a time line of accomplishments in my schedule file. Otherwise, all I can see is my "To Do" list -- and that brings on that moment where I feel like throwing ashes on my head and sitting on my pity-pot. Those "if only" moments can be powerful!
I had the same perspective as you, on the book since I'm 63 3/4 old. But, as foolish as it sounds, I still have great hope for us in the "older set." Each time we try again, we can do it faster, better and more directly. I try to always keep that in mind when I make that new, totally exhausting sprint toward that elusive glimmer out there known as success.
