Hello Fastlaners,

I’m Ravi, 35, from the UK.

Three weeks before my 30th birthday, I was sitting at work when one fact hit me so violently that I physically threw up:

I had never been on a date.

On paper, I appeared like I was getting somewhere. I had rebuilt my career, become a senior project manager, managed approximately 50 people and finally created some financial stability after a horrendous life, coming from an abusive and dysfunctional background.

But internally, I was still running from the life I had experienced as a child.

There is no gentle way to describe my upbringing.

I grew up with a deeply abusive and cruel father who terrorised my mother, my brother and me. Our home was defined by rage, fear, psychological abuse and behaviour that, to us, amounted to torture.

There was nowhere to escape and no real sense of safety.

Over time, that environment caused me to develop several clinical-level psychiatric conditions, including severe anxiety and depressive disorders. Eventually, my entire body and mind seemed to shut down.

The damage followed me everywhere.

During my first years at school, I was so anxious that I couldn’t enter the classroom. I would hide beneath my coat in the cloakroom and cry for hours.

Secondary school brought more violence, racism, bullying and isolation. I became overweight, socially withdrawn and convinced that something was fundamentally wrong with me.

At around 15, I discovered something that would repeatedly save my life: disciplined action.

I unplugged my PlayStation, stopped watching television and began studying obsessively. Teachers at my failing school initially laughed when I said I wanted top grades. Eventually, I became one of the school’s highest-performing students and earned my way into university.

But academic achievement couldn’t repair what was happening internally.

My psychological health deteriorated until, I'd be up and down, and through I scraped some sort of efforts at getting through life together, at 25, I reached complete rock bottom.

I had become a housebound agoraphobic. Leaving the house (and sometimes even my room) felt almost impossible. I was more than 300 pounds, depressed, overwhelmed and watching my life disappear.

My body had shut down.

My mind had shut down.

But something inside me refused to accept that this would be the end of my story.

At 25, I made a decision:

I am going to change my life, or I will die trying.

That decision began a legendary, life-saving two-year mission.

For two years, I treated rebuilding myself as my full-time purpose. I studied anxiety, conditioning, trauma and the nervous system. I practised breathwork and yoga, rebuilt my daily structure, lost weight and gradually exposed myself to the world again.

Initially, progress meant simply leaving my room.

Then it meant leaving the house.

Then driving somewhere.

Then meeting someone.

Then returning to work.

Little by little, I rebuilt a human being who had almost completely disappeared.

I went from being housebound to working in a call centre. From there, I found work in a laboratory, then became a university project assistant, project coordinator and eventually a senior project manager responsible for approximately 50 staff.

None of it happened overnight.

There was no single breakthrough, motivational speech or miracle cure. It was thousands of small actions, repeated while a large part of me was still frightened.

By 29, I had done what once seemed impossible. I had rebuilt my health, career, independence and ability to function in the world.

But I had only rebuilt the parts of life I knew how to measure.

Three weeks before turning 30, I was forced to confront the truth: despite all the external progress, I was still profoundly lonely. I had never been on a date, never experienced a relationship and was still a virgin.

I had rebuilt a respectable life, but not the life I actually wanted.

That realisation began the next chapter: The Phoenix Project.

I moved to London and started confronting the fears I had avoided for most of my life. I worked on my appearance, health, beliefs, nervous system, social skills and ability to connect with women.

For approximately nine months, I could spend four or five hours outside and manage to speak to only one person.

It took six months of rebuilding my photos and profile to receive my first online match. I went through roughly 50 dates without a kiss or a second date. Over the years, I spoke to close to 10,000 women.

That number isn’t a flex.

It taught me that effort without the correct system and feedback loop can become another form of avoidance.

I thought I had a volume problem. What I really had was a combination of unresolved trauma, nervous-system dysregulation, poor social calibration, weak positioning and an identity constructed around rejection.

My results changed when I combined relentless action with excellent mentors, honest feedback, deliberate practice and deeper emotional work.

Eventually, the man who had never been on a date built a romantic life he once considered impossible. I experienced relationships, travelled the world, built businesses and lived on the beach in Mexico, something I had promised myself years earlier that I would accomplish.

More importantly, I stopped believing I was broken.

I also realised that this journey was never ultimately about accumulating women or proving myself to other men.

External validation cannot heal an internal wound.

The real transformation was becoming capable of leading myself, expressing myself authentically, creating genuine connection and choosing relationships from self-respect rather than fear or desperation.

That experience became the foundation for the company I’m building today: Naturally Magnetic Men.

We serve high-performing Indian, Asian and other minority men whose romantic lives don’t reflect the competence they have demonstrated elsewhere.

Many of these men have built impressive careers through intelligence and discipline. Yet they continue to struggle romantically because of how they present themselves, communicate and respond under pressure.

Generic advice often fails them because it ignores culture, racial perception, positioning, archetype, social performance, anxiety and unresolved internal patterns.

Naturally Magnetic Men brings those pieces together:
  • Profile, positioning and attraction strategy
  • Social and date-performance coaching
  • Inner work, identity development and accountability
  • Real-world feedback and measurable outcomes
The belief behind the brand is simple:

Magnetism isn’t something a man must be born with. It can be earned and built.

My current goal is to turn Naturally Magnetic Men into the most trusted and results-driven brand in its category.

That means creating predictable client acquisition, continually improving our delivery, documenting measurable transformations and building a company that isn’t permanently dependent on my personality or time.

I don’t want to build another personality-led coaching business based on hype, manipulation or vague promises. I want to build a durable system that produces meaningful outcomes and gives men the guidance I desperately needed at 25.

Personally, I want to build a great partnership, a durable business and a healthy, stable life that I don’t need to escape from.

I want to continue strengthening my body and mind, become a better leader, create genuine financial freedom and turn the most painful years of my life into something valuable for other people.

I joined this forum because effort has never been my problem.

My next level is leverage: better positioning, stronger economics, predictable customer acquisition, effective systems and an operation capable of producing exceptional results without its founder becoming the bottleneck.

I’ll share my progress, mistakes and lessons honestly. I’m not here to pretend I’ve completed the journey. I’m here to execute, learn from people further ahead and contribute wherever my experience may be valuable.

If you have scaled a high-touch service or education business without sacrificing client outcomes, I would especially value your perspective. I am locked in HARDCORE with short-form video.

And if you see a hole in my thinking, please say it directly.

I have learned far more from uncomfortable truths than comfortable encouragement.

For anyone interested, this is the full, unfiltered version of my story:
