Bullcrap.
I agree.
x2 bullcrap

People don’t change because they don’t want the discomfort. But we can rewrite habits to new habits. No matter the age.

Thank you @Rabby , first time read for me, brilliant story. Thought I'd read everything by him already but was mistaken. Is it from a collection by any chance?
If I recall it was published on its own first, in a magazine or something. Has always been one of my favorites since reading it. Surely it's made it into a Vonnegut collection by now. Come to think of it, that would be a good candidate for one of those classic heirloom books.

I love Vonnegut, most give up after being forced to read Slaughterhouse-Five in high school and do not dig into his amazing collection. Also him with Rodney Dangerfield in this classic is hilarious.

If Apple designed cars, I'm guessing that would make it so simple it wouldn't have heat or A/C, and they'd make you buy the windshield wipers separate.
My buddy drove down to stay here this weekend and charged his Tesla in my garage.

He told me that the rear seats have built in A/C, heating and cooling, but since he didn't order them he can turn them on by paying for an app through the dashboard.

That's the Apple of cars, my friends.

Apple products are infuriating. I just bought a new iMac desktop computer and it only has two thunderbolt ports, and the keyboard occupies one of them. That's it.

I'm tempted to return it just out of "spite" for such an idiotic "simplistic" design.

I have the iMac M1 as well. The ports have been fine. I use a caldigit for other ports that I need. What is really frustrating.

Is that the new macbook pro models have the damn ports now!

Wifey and I were laughing about this... she got the new MBP and it has HDMI ports and everything. Even a memory card reader. It's a laptop, so you expect limitations... but nonetheless the desktop computer has fewer ports now. I think it's an experiment to see how much they can confuse the customer.

I actually have one and I don't think it's an issue at all. I don't even notice it.

What I do think is a problem though, is the disappointing battery life. I opted for the 14 inch model. Not for the raw power, but for the increased screen estate in a small package. Unfortunately, battery life is not near as good as the 13 inch models.

Talk about fine support Google's got there for disapproving 6 ads without actually solving the issue. That's funny.

I filed a complaint on my mortgage company and it actually worked. There was a check I sent them on a service they never completed (they were just keeping the money and not helping me over the phone).

So I went through the appropriate channels, filed a formal complaint, and lo and behold, the refund check showed up in my mailbox. Wow! I would have never expected that to actually work...

When I started this thread, I had no idea it would become one of my favorites on the forum. It’s really nice to check in to just see what’s on everyone’s mind and what their dealing with at the moment, and it gives me a nice feeling of being around the water cooler, or in a break room with a bunch of colleagues. Well done!

Most people in their late 20s or early 30s most people are who they are going to be for the rest of their lives.

Detach from people who are this age and aren't heading where you plan to go.

I generally agree with this, the key wording being "most people", but not the people here.

I seem to change every few years. Don't think I'd recognize 25, 30, 35, or 40 year old me compared to me today.

Not recognizing your younger self is a sign of growth.

Guess once in a while they make a miss...

I recently switched to a second-hand iPhone 11 from iPhone 7...and the data transition from the old device was shockingly seamless. I didn't need to connect to iCloud or a PC...just hook it over Bluetooth, wait an hour...and voila...everything done.

Also enjoyed more space and battery life.

Back then I'd avoid strangers like the plague.

Today? I'd say, 'Hell yeah, let's see what I can learn from him/her. Maybe a new friend?'

Usually here gets a good response but a thread for short questions not detailed enough to require an entire thread could be useful?

Anyway, on that note, small question... to what extent does English spelling hinder a product sold internationally? At all? Does it affect SEO?

I'm selling a coloured product and the term with spelling color is searched 3-6x more worldwide. Even in the UK the color term is searched more frequently.

Maybe it's just in my head but it seems weird for a UK brand to spell the word color.

Interested to hear if it makes a difference

@MJ DeMarco I noticed an error in account preferences. I can add social media identities, but the options to identify as a non-binary squirrel or grumpy old man are missing.

Saw this on the YT home page - it is a pretty funny take on Gary V ha.

I don't follow GaryV, read his books, or listen to him. This was the first I heard of some of his advice.

It sounds like he has a hard time managing the truth and saying what sounds/feels good which appeals to a broad audience (crap like "follow your passion").

As such, he ends up in a lot of contradictions.

I laughed at the guy with bunny ears headphones. Two lame tubers calling out a celebrity to get more views. If I imagine in my minds eye the definition of how a loser looks like on YouTube it would be the unshaven hosts in racing office chairs with bunny ear headphones.

Full disclosure, don’t know much about Gary Ve or care about it. Just thought those two losers making fun of anyone would be ironic.

I think he’s famous because he’s intense. It’s not only what he says, it’s “how” he says it.

Got me curious, I might look into him more. I saw that piece on how he launched his NFTs and did very well. Makes me think he’s smart businessman.

I watched the original Matrix last night and it still holds up so well as a movie.

It's crazy that I came out in 1999.

---

A funny Matrix story actually - when I was in the movie seeing the 3rd Matrix there was a date sitting pretty close by.
When Agent Smith first appeared in the movie I heard the girl ask the guy "and who is this guy?"

I remember laughing so hard that someone had tricked a date into seeing the third movie without having watched the other two haha. I never did hear what he said but good luck explaining the two Matrix movies in a few seconds.

They might be lame, but one of those YouTubers is worth $40 mil according to Google. He has 111 million subscribers. To be fair, Google says Gary is worth more.
