On a serious note, does it make you a dick if you tend to discount advice given to you by obese people?

For example, I wouldn't treat seriously a psychologist (or any mental health therapist) who's obese. Same with any other teacher, unless what they teach has nothing to do at all with health. So for example I would listen to an obese bestselling author but not necessarily to an obese climbing coach (even if his technique were flawless).

I'm aware that some people are obese because of medical reasons but the vast majority isn't and obesity usually demonstrates a lack of self-discipline and/or other issues they should have dealt with before teaching others stuff that involves health/fitness.

So instead of going after Matt Hancock for all the wrong things he has done, they are going after the person who exposed what he's up to...?

Wtf

It's a good thing we have the ICO to protect the guilty

This feels like the predictions of Atlas Shrugged being played out by Inspector Clouseau.

If you do something dumb in UK government, you get shuffled to a different cabinet post so you can screw up there too.

Who cares if you're a dick? Those people don't even respect themselves - why should you respect them?

Obesity is an issue of inner strength and intelligence - it's the result of being too stupid and / or weak to take care yourself. Being obese makes every aspect of your life worse.

The 90s called. They want their Berkshire Hathaway's website back.

I find it incredible that one of the largest holding companies in the world has such a terrible website.

It proves the most fundamental rule people forget in life and business...

Only focus on what matters.

Warren Buffett can afford it. Joe Schmoe would never get any investors if he started his own holding company and had such a website.

What I mean is that, some businesses are driven by their online presence and some are not.

If your business is coal mining, for example, your customers probably don’t care how slick your website is.

They want to inspect your safety procedures, efficiency, see the equipment in real life, etc.

Some investment funds “crowd source” digitally so I can understand them focusing on websites.

If you make websites or software as your business, then of course your site better be good

quote from my main mentor: “when a customer from a big company comes in here, they don’t wanna see a bunch of fancy office furniture or a nice lobby. They want to see people working and getting stuff done.”

same for big investors.

again, depends on industry and specifics though

I'm probably the most muscular person in the MMA gym that I attend.

That hasn't stopped me from getting pummeled in sparring by skinny people or people with beer bellies.

Be careful who you underestimate.

YouTube has too many examples of this

It has become so easy to make good looking website, that super simple html one probably signals more value. When everybody's wearing a fancy jacket in the club, a guy in the t-shirt gets all the attention.

I have found that sometimes ugly websites indicate a business has been around longer. Not always, but often

Experiment worth testing:
Creating A/B split test website for the same domain, one with UI/UX design and sophisticated features, and the second one with bare-bone HTML pages with dry information.

I would bet that HTML version will have far superior results in B2B industries.

Me too actually. Been thinking of reverting our main company website to the old style.
The new one is nice but makes us look like a new biz...

I was reading recently about how the English had a history of passing arbitrary laws just so that they could fine people or put them in prison and make money off of their labor.

This racket has been around for a while:

Yet the French Police are exempt from the vaccine?

Covid opened up some interesting opportunities in terms of meeting people.

I met guy A and guy B over LinkedIn from outreach campaigns. I never met either of them in person.

I introduced them since they had complimentary roles, and guy B offered guy A a job. They've even played tennis together.

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for me to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed or enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt.”

Well, seems like I'm done with bars and restaurants. F*ck off. Can't wait to escape elsewhere (eventhough the rest of the world is not much brighter...).

Yet the French Police are exempt from the vaccine?

The day the police turns on them, they are dead. And everyday, it has more reasons to do so.

I'm not a fan of vaccines, but even sometimes the 'alternative party' raises my ire.

The anti-vaxx side of my family started sharing this bit of an interview with Noble Laureate Luc Montagnier, who claimed the vaccines are causing variants of COVID:

However, what the folks didn't think of was this:
1. COVID variants have been discovered BEFORE the vaccines came out
(which is probably due to the virus spreading through huge populations...so I guess the theory that the virus has been here long before 2020 may have some ground?)

2. As the virus spreads to more people, the more it replicates in bodies and mutates

Luc did raise the issue of Antibody-Dependent Enhancement, where antibodies from the vaccines may actually make it EASIER for viruses to infect.

A good article on this:

While the scientific community claims there's no ADR effect clearly registered from COVID-vaccines (yet), I remember Dengue has reported cases of ADR-so that's not impossible. The article did suggest some ways to improve vaccines for that, so I guess there's always room for improvement.

What I hate is that the anti-vax side of my family keeps finding reasons to support their hatred. At one point, they blew up a huge argument in the main family WhatsApp group with some articles, and they did not lay out facts in an orderly manner.

They were like, 'Oh...if you take vaccines, you are doomed...X will kill you...Mark of the Beast...bla bla bla'
Which beats the whole operation of explaining why you don't wanna vaccines altogether...you might as well not tell people anything!

Another sad thing is that this side of the family are (older) Christians, and for the non-Christian folks, blabbering like fools just makes us look like idiots.

I just want to tell them this:

"Are you F*cking anti-vax...just for the sake of hating that vial of crap???
Not everything is the F*cking Mark of the Beast!
Sure, the authorities are working on something. But mankind has always been working on evil shit...it doesn't always have to be a shot in the arm!

You know what's the real Mark of the Beast around?
The selfishness, wickedness, hatred, ignorance and greed within all of us.
And they will grow and grow unless we choose to fight them. You don't need a bloody chip to activate these 'marks'...only your personal choice to do wickedness.

Don't be a stupid lunatic! Not every F*cking WhatsApp video from a pastor or professor is legit, as bad as the vaccine rollout may be. We have had enough ignorant Christians around, and I don't even know how the heck our Church is still standing today.

Vaccines aren't the real enemy here...the F*cking stupidity of the population and leaders are.
Sit the F*ck down, listen to all sides, verify and lay your points calmly. And then let everyone make their decisions, or provide other alternatives! "

Governments commit cyber attacks as often as criminal organizations do. And they do them better.

It wouldn't surprise me if future historians refer to the last few years as a global cyber war.

Teslas, and ALL electric vehicles, rely heavily on fossil fuels.

Plastic parts. Tires. Machinery for manufacture.

Even the electricity out of the grid:

Are Teslas cool? Yeah.

But are they the "anti-fossil fuel" world beater? Not really, no.
