Wow. That is cool. And also 250mph faster than I'll be driving on the expressway with no traffic.

Him taking his hand off the wheel makes me nervous one little bump in the road...

Really, I can't take it anymore. I'm done. Empty. I don't even have rage left. I can't even say "F*ck you, government", anymore.

The government has exceeded the legal limit to process my applications for three and a half months. Everyone says "so sue them", but that will actually just get the government involved to tell the government it should do its job, with no personal repercussions for anyone, whatsoever, and will cause me a lot more paperwork.

In another matter, the government owes me a few thousand Euro, we're going into the 14th month.

Do I have to say what would happen if that was the other way around? It would take two months, and I'd be in jail. No hearing. One letter, and then the police knocks if you don't come voluntarily.

And I mean...that is just annoying, but just the icing on the cake: I had to get my driver's licence renewed, so I sent in a picture. I get a letter back, asking me to send a picture in.

You know, I work with challenged people. But actually, I think they'd properly fill positions in the government.

Can you hire bailiffs?

There was a case in the UK semi recently where a local council owed someone money... so they got bailiffs. They turned up to the council offices and took a bunch of computers for auction

Tax refunds? I get mine pretty fast (a few weeks after handing it in) going through my tax advisor. Maybe better for the future.

Otherwise: Moskau Inkasso

Every time I think I'm done moving, something else happens!

Finally picked up all my furniture today... carrying it into the apartment with my dad. 10 seconds before I get to the building entrance, somebody slams the door and it clicks onto the lock (it usually doesn't). I have to unlock the front door for the first time. I put the key in, twist, and off comes the key. With part of it stuck in the door!

UGH. Had to use the intercom to get a neighbour to open the door for me. I managed to get the key out of the lock, but until the landlord gets me a new key, if I go out and the lock clicks shut, I'm going to have to bug my neighbours. And in the case nobody's in... I'm stuck outside!

Joined a gym!

I am lifting weights 6 times per week with my brother who knows what he is doing.

3 weeks straight, I am really enjoying this.

I wish I had a globo gym nearby. That would be sweet.

Update:

So I feel like I have built a habit.

My prediction, it will be 4-6 more weeks and I will handily be in the best shape of my life. This isn't saying much so I am obviously not stopping there. I plan to blow the doors off of it.

Once again... I regret not starting earlier. A common theme to just about everything we humans do. Lol.

Alright, some updates on that college group assignment.

Here's the 'extras' I have done:

-Offered to send my team's questions to clarify at a Zoom consultation call with my lecturer
(70% of the team couldn't come together, for whatever reason)

-Ended up going alone to that call, as my group leader 'was busy all day', despite having to postpone a few meetings and copywriting stuff myself.

But now we have clarified some vital details for the project.

- Jotted down the meeting minutes (mandatory) for TWO group discussions
(again, I volunteered to help...my lecturer was complaining about the sheer lack of detail in our group's mandatory meeting minutes for the last hand-in...which was done by my leader)

I felt disgusted the entire time, but after all's said and done, I felt somewhat lighter and even a little pleased that at least some parts of the work were under my control.

We'll see how all these culminate for the upcoming group presentation...
UPDATES:
Now, we've finished all our pitch presentations.
What's left is to fill in the blanks on the feedback our lecturer gave us for each of the pitches, and assemble it all into a formal business plan report.

It's actually EASY since our lecturer's feedback basically handed us 60% of the right direction to move towards. I also got hold of a few business reports from seniors to learn how they planned their stuff, even though they wrote plans on different products and markets.

Today, my group leader WhatsApp-ed us:
"Can we start writing tomorrow Friday? "

I replied:
"Sure, great! We can start with the pitch on our Mission and Value Proposition, but we'll have to leave sustainability topics for next tutorial to hear from our tutor on. He's having extra classes on that."

Some team member:
"Guys I might fall behind schedule a bit (with college studies and other stuffs) if we were to start writing tomorrow...a lot's happening at my side..."

That filled me with FURY.

I don't give a rat's a$$ that you have something on...what in the F*ck are you gonna do about contributing?
Throughout the entire pitch progress, you F*cking slid through by taking the measely parts and doing them shittily- so that you wouldn't get rated as non-participating on the peer reviews!

And I can't remember a SINGLE TIME you gave us an idea that saved our work or added value!

Even in the last pitch presentation, you nearly missed the FAQ session for our Zoom call.
And you turned up looking like a drunkard with messy hair, and gave shitty answers that were EASILY ANSWERED just from participating actively in the work or even the research!

Plus, you are doing only a SINGLE MARKETING MAJOR. I'm doing a DOUBLE MAJOR in Finance and Analytics!
Who's supposed to be afraid of 'getting left behind'? Me? You?

(Hint: He didn't even take on any of our business presentation parts on marketing plans)

You say you have to work a job...
Do you know I have to entertain you folks while doing my copywriting jobs with tougher, meaner clients who could cut my pay anytime they see fit? Do you know how I had to fight brain-drain writing copy and tabulating data for our shameful pitches at the same time?

Work your job by all means, but if you let it compromise OUR group work, you might as well either quit the job or quit the unit.

And even if you can't come for the meeting, at least provide SOMETHING OF VALUE.
Something like a list of suggestions on how to fill in the feedback. You have ALL the lecturer comments downloaded into your Moodle, so you can go read and research on newer, refined ideas!

Don't just sit there and complain you gonna get left behind....PICK UP YOUR BRAIN AND USE IT.

Excuses...piss-sod time management...spoilt rat's a$$.

Just F*ck fresh graduates like him.
I kind of regret I didn't score him way lower for peer reviews.

TLDR: The reason why fresh graduates are paid peanuts is that employers know they CAN'T EVEN perform in doing industry-vital work- which also affects the pay raises on the promotional ladder.
And it's not college's fault...it's the graduates' decision to take on that attitude.

Just wanted to give head ups to some people.
New scam is being sold.
Its called "improve your life 1% a day with compounding effect".

I hope you spit your coffee on the screen reading this but if not then here's the kicker:
1% per day, compound interests over 50 years (you don't want to stop after first year!)
is about this

7,329,452,475,926,451,199,430,248,284,765,653,087,469,028,928,961,206,412,457,026,705,272,089,425,739,776.00

That's 7 followed 78 digits.

For comparison million is 1 followed by 6 digits.

These things are hilarious when you learn to spot them.

Aside from anything else, why would someone with a 78figure net worth be advertising on Facebook? They'd be launching things into the sun for jokes.

My friend thought it was pretty wild I was only using 4G at my apartment. Initially I got 10-20mbps which was good but now I'm getting 30-45mbps which is awesome. I don't get any lag when viewing something on the Chromecast or even gaming on the PS4. I'm saving £300 a year versus getting broadband, plus I have unlimited data on my phone for when I'm out and about too!

There is a thing that got me worrying.
I've read news that one candidate raised $300m more than the other guy.
This worries me not because i'm for the other guy (i'm not) but because one female candidate also had a big advantage of raised cash, yet she lost previous election.

Since we're not allowed here to talk about politics, lets make it on topic:
Just because one has more cash it doesn't mean he will succeed.

Or maybe, even if someone has more cash, he is more prone to failure

That seems kinda counterintuitive...

Aaand what I came here to say:

It is unbelievable how you can cheat yourself into thinking you're doing productive work. I must have wasted a lot of time the past few weeks. Sure, I killed Trello cards left and right, but did I make progress towards my actual goals? Yes, but not as much as if I had focused on doing the right things, not all the things.

I read the 12 Week Year and am going to implement a plan starting November. Dividing stuff into strategically important and everyday bla is really important. A friend of mine joined me and we have a phone call every morning 5.30AM and an accountability review every Friday evening coming.

I bought a new 3 pc suit Men's warehouse yesterday. For less than $200. (I haven't gotten a tailored yet, but still. That's cheap.)

I asked if they had a sale going on, he said everyday is a sale at Men's Wearhouse. At first I thought that was good banter by a salesperson, but there really weren't any sale signs up on anything other than the shirts.

Price are just that cheap.

Had a really interesting chat with the fellow selling me the suit. He told me that same suit was selling for $750 a year ago, and over a grand a few years ago.

But what I found more interesting was his assertion that the suit market ain't coming back. Ever. He doesn't think you'll ever see prices as high as $750 for that suit.

He thinks more people working from home means less people wearing suits. More people will just rent if they need it for special occasions, etc.

Makes sense.

For a while I thought this was just his theory, but then he said this was more of the scuttlebutt coming through the grapevine.

What was also strange was that a lot of the suit jackets didn't have matching pants. He said there's a shortage of pants nationwide.

I'd gone in planning on buying two or three suits, with prices so low, but the pants shortage made it so that I only found one suit I actually liked.

I said surely you guys will be getting in some new pants soon. He gave me a look as if to say don't be so sure.

It's interesting to continue to see the ripple effects going through the economy in ways you wouldn't think of.

Nice deal there!

I have certainly changed the way I am looking at this too...

My next suit, whenever I need one, will bespoke. I have realized that with the infrequency I am wearing a suit, I might as well have one really nice one instead of 7 decent ones.

I'm planning on navy blue with a subtle pin stripe.

NONE of my stuff is going to fit me right with the weight lifting I have been doing.

One of my old go to sport coats draped around my midsection at church this week. I can't imagine how bad the suits will look.

You know...on a daily basis, I bring a disabled boy to school and try to teach him to the point where he can write a three sentence letter to his friend who lives next door. And he's proud of that three sentence letter and he can be. All the tales of challenges overcome, they just don't apply to his condition.

So please excuse me, but I can't take your "I have this or that condition, I'm pretty sure because the internet says so, I also have severe social anxiety so I can afford to behave like a total a**hole online, look at this loooong list of self-diagnosis and send some cash via venmo" Twitter **** anymore. Stop tweeting, write more three sentence letters, perhaps I'll take any of you seriously then.

LOVE this book. Very well written & a subtle dark humour* that I enjoyed immensely.

*at least I chose to interpret it as such.

As someone with recent work history of jobs that wouldn't have existed even only ten years ago, this bit always sticks in my mind:

...So already, alas, in Adam Smith's time, machinery had thrown from 240 to 4,800 pin-makers out of work for every one it kept. In the pin-making industry there was already, if machines merely throw men out of jobs, 99.98 per cent unemployment. Could things be blacker?

Things could be blacker, for the Industrial Revolution was just in its infancy...

Made me lol.

I can just imagine the outrage.

And how ludicrous it would be if we had kept old-fashioned pin-making as a serious profession today.

Hmm, and thinking about it, the person who has my copy of this, also still has my copy of TMF . I wouldn't mind if I thought it was moving the needle for him :smuggy: These days I just buy people their own copy when they need it.

Google losing to edge?

Microsoft threw in the towel and built a chromium browser. What am I missing? Last I read, the gain and market share by edge was matched by the drop in market share by Firefox.
The thing about chromium is that it is, well, not visible part of browser.
What is important about Edge is that its visible part of browser and that it is controlled wholly by Microsoft.
They can do whatever they want with it, even a banner that nags to use Bing as default search engine whenever someone uses Google.

Ms is pushing Edge hard.
Most recent versions of windows (even win 7) have it being installed without user prompt.
And they get good press for some features.

If all new windows computers will go with Edge pre installed they'll probably point to Bing, too.
That probably is what this is all about.
Bing is $6 billion a year business for microsoft at the moment.

How many people are non tech-savvy enough and will keep the default browser and default search on their machines?
Also note that this situation is 0-sum game. Each person using Bing and Edge is one person less for Google.

It's repeat of history. MS was installing Internet Explorer by default and kicked Netscape out of market in around '95. They've got antitrust case by US gov that ended in basically nothing threatening.
I can almost bet that Google will try to file antitrust complaint.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Google is always looking for new places to put ads. Microsoft is always looking for new ways to switch people's browsers (or force them to use MS Office products...).

Now Google is facing anti trust issues here in the US.

And Apple wants to make a search engine...
