I made it last month. I'm curious to know how other people felt when they made it.

Mind you, I'm no millionaire, but for me, it happened when I purchased another business to add to my portfolio. Prior to this acquisition, my company was making a little more than my family's monthly living expenses. After the purchase, my company makes an excess of $120,000 over our yearly living costs. I remember before I got to where I am, I felt content to just be in control of my financial situation. I had enough money coming in to take care of the family. And I didn't need to continue consulting. I could tell my bosses (I have two computer consulting clients) that I'm done.

Honestly, it does feel great! I have so much more freedom of choice. In another post, I stated that my family and I are moving to Central America, because we love it there, and to put it frankly, we can.

But, I'll give you a caveat for those aspiring to get here. The money worries don't go away. They just become different worries. How do I grow my businesses? How do I protect my business investment? Can this all go down in flames, and I'm left with nothing again?

Though in a nutshell, the feeling is pretty awesome. Empowering I think is the right word. The world becomes your oyster, and you feel like you're finally on the right path to build your empire. And your perspective with money changes. It's strange, but making money shifts from being a necessity to becoming a sport. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but I think it is better than the alternative.

Congratulations! Seems like you're enjoying the process too!

I'm not in Fastlane yet and still have a very long road ahead as my business income just slightly overcome ex-salary at the moment.

However, I do feel similar to you as that income is pretty much detached from my time.
How to grow it? Where is the limit? When will it fade (and it will, cause it's a fad shovel service)? What to do next? How to do it?

Definitely feeling that profits are just a score in a game. Maybe cause we deliberately haven't put currency signs on our admin pages where we track it. Maybe cause it's not straightforward to calculate my share from the project's total income. Maybe cause it's growing quite fast.
I had the same feeling about money when playing online poker, but that was essentially a game and wasn't my primary source of income as I had a job.
Maybe it has something in common - once you have enough for a living and feel somewhat secure it really becomes a game.

Although feeling on the right path and that income on such an early stage brings lots of options. Like taking more risks with both time and money on future projects, hiring employees, working smarter.

Really happy with my two partners. We're insanely on the same page all the time, they are really smart and we somehow manage to make each one of us better by absorbing good traits of each other.
I had some tension with partners on my previous failures even at an early stage so starting with partners was a major concern.

TLDR;
Not made it yet. Probably won't achieve a yearly income goal set for a service business that pivoted to products from the first client. Crushed time and freedom goal that I didn't had, even compared to anything I could imagine. Grateful to be here. Thankful for the options. Happy to help other people. 100% sure we'll do even better over time.

Good luck growing your business!

Congrats!

I am no way close to making my first million yet, however, after listening to Millionaire Fastlane and Unscripted about 15-20 times and having taken shit tons of action over the last 4 months, I finally feel that I have reached "The Trenches" and am actually on a higher speed road towards wealth.

I wish you good luck in all future endeavours and that you will enjoy central America.

Thanks a lot. Million is arbitrary, right? Nice on listening to TMF and Unscripted . I'll get to the second one soon.

What are your plans for growth?
The niche of the project is quite small. So far we're already the go-to, #1 solution, yet not every potential customer knows of us. The project grows organically quite fast and we put some paid advertising into the fire from time to time just to escape the recommendation circles and form new ones faster. As the niche is very small, thus hard to target, and no one really googles it, our only advertising options is quite expensive media buying (up to $800/day) on places where our prospects might hang out from time to time.

Almost finished adapting the solution to a similar, bigger niche that has the same problem. Planning on heavy and broader, more conventional, advertising on launch.

Then move on to a different project, who knows what. The plan is sticking to one bigger industry for years, talking with people there, finding problems, learning the industry, coming up with solutions and slowly getting traction and building authority in that industry. Everything concurrently, not sequential.

We have some thoughts on the industries - basically, the ones we can all comfortably work in for a long time, are still dinosaurs from the software perspective, but have proven profitable software products (meaning people there are not prehistoric themselves) with some room for improvements, and have just enough entry barriers for us.

We started the current project as a service company for an equity share in exchange for lower rates, basically reducing the risks for the client and improving our odds for hitting big. Intensive programming phase is almost completed, only one major feature left for this new niche (we would launch without it) and the client would completely take over the project since then, doing more marketing and operational tasks and leaving us only with passive income and some minor non-urgent support.
