I made it last month. I'm curious to know how other people felt when they made it.
Mind you, I'm no millionaire, but for me, it happened when I purchased another business to add to my portfolio. Prior to this acquisition, my company was making a little more than my family's monthly living expenses. After the purchase, my company makes an excess of $120,000 over our yearly living costs. I remember before I got to where I am, I felt content to just be in control of my financial situation. I had enough money coming in to take care of the family. And I didn't need to continue consulting. I could tell my bosses (I have two computer consulting clients) that I'm done.
Honestly, it does feel great! I have so much more freedom of choice. In another post, I stated that my family and I are moving to Central America, because we love it there, and to put it frankly, we can.
But, I'll give you a caveat for those aspiring to get here. The money worries don't go away. They just become different worries. How do I grow my businesses? How do I protect my business investment? Can this all go down in flames, and I'm left with nothing again?
Though in a nutshell, the feeling is pretty awesome. Empowering I think is the right word. The world becomes your oyster, and you feel like you're finally on the right path to build your empire. And your perspective with money changes. It's strange, but making money shifts from being a necessity to becoming a sport. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but I think it is better than the alternative.
