Hey Everyone,

Thank you for checking out my thread

Little Background
- Shy and fat kid with no social life
- Had an ecommerce business when I was 15 and did various dropshipping with amazon/ebay for a few years
- Got into sports and starting playing American Football seriously (Played QB)
- Dropped the Businesses and focused on Health and Fitness
- Studied Sport and Exercise science at University and started personal training and coaching Athletes

Setbacks
- Been through a few periods of depression, mainly at the end of University after some serious injuries and a tough break up.
- Went through 6 months of CBT Therapy and bounced around Personal Training in London - Made a lot of money but burnt myself out and developed another eating disorder
- Injuries became too much and had to stop playing American Football

Recovery
- Took part in an ayahuasca retreat that changed my life and perspective in Peru in 2018
- Travelled in Colombia to study and improve my Spanish for 3 months at the start of 2019 (I would right now I'm B1+)

Current Situation
- I've always been a big reader and very studious so I naturally stumbled upon the millionaire fastlane and this forum
- So I have my own website now with only 1 article (my experience with ayahuasca) and a few online coaching clients that bring in a small amount of income
- After coming back to the UK from Colombia I've took on a trainee sales job to provide some basic income and help me improve my sales skills while I build my own Business.
- I'm 26, have years of experience in Personal Training and Gym Management

Goals!
- I'm lucky enough to have a friend help with my website design in exchange for coaching so working through building that with him
- Focus on building up an online coaching clientele first to generate regular income then look to build other revenue streams
- Reading 1 sales book per week and trying to get as much experience/income out of this sales job for the time I'm there
- Post one new article/video on my website per week and build the online coaching application/results and testimonials pages to start to generate new leads and conversions
- Over time create different products in the form of courses/ebooks/potential merch to make the business more fastlane!
- Actually write out specific and measurable goals haha

Thank you for taking the time to read some of my story and looking forward to hearing any potential suggestions :)

Business is two parts: Acquisition and fulfillment of obligation.

Acquisition: Getting in front of people and selling them something.

Fulfillment of obligation: Delivering them the thing you sold.

The allure of information product businesses as well as drop-shipping and eCommerce businesses is the simplicity of the fulfillment of obligation. It's easy to deliver a product you don't make. It's easy for someone to buy your ebook once you write it. The beast is figuring out the acquisition part of the business. How do you get people to buy? That's the issue. Which is why there are so many broke YouTubers and starving artists in the world.

On the other side of the spectrum are difficult to scale businesses where there is plenty of demand and the problem is delivering it efficiently, such as a lawn care business.

In your industry, the entire problem is getting peoples' attention. Period.

Now let me ask you.. Is writing blog articles the best way to get peoples' attention in the year 2019?

Here is what you need to do to successfully grow your personal brand and help lots of people and make tons of money as well.

1. Actually know what you're talking about. If you're going to help people get in shape, be great at it. If you're going to help people with what's going on in their heads, be great at it. If you're going to claim you can help someone become much healthier, be great at it. If not, only focus on what you can actually do that provides as much real value to people as possible.

2. Go where people are paying attention and become part of the conversation and subsequently part of the community. You now need to be on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and anything else you see gaining attention so you can be active on it. Get it at the right time and you'll be like Gary Vaynerchuck when Twitter took off, Athlean-x when Youtube was growing, and many other examples. You need to be making content on all of these platforms based on where your audience is spending their time, and give them what they want on those channels. They want to see how fit you are and how great your lifestyle is on Instagram. They want long form explanation videos about fitness, as well as some thought provoking psychology videos that motivate them and a vlog as well on YouTube. They want quotes and you sharing your thoughts when on Twitter. They want long form articles that really explain complex ideas in article format on your website.

3. You should start with coaching to maximize the money you're making because you'll have a small audience. Then, when you're too busy to coach everyone, give them something else like a condensed coaching session that is cheaper and less in depth but brings in more money overall. Then offer an ebook for everyone else, then merchandise, and so on. Then raise your prices for the things that are limited in scale. Personal coaching is a couple grand. A phone call is $200. Being part of your INSIDERS group chat that gets to ask you questions is $50 a month.

But your main focus needs to be getting peoples' attention. That's it. It should be easy to set up the infrastructure to monetize that attention, but the content is what will get you there. And you need to be doing it constantly for years, delivering tons of free value in the channels that people are actually on. Writing articles works in 2009 but it doesn't have the same effect now. You need to market yourself better than that.

Glad you are doing better and getting started, your post is quite detailed with your journey.

It sounds like your business is going to be in the life coaching/physical fitness arena. This is a big market right now that is peaking/has peaked, what is going to be your value proposition to the customer?

How are you any different than all the other life coaches/physical coaches? This is something you definitely want to ask yourself, there are a ton of gurus out there right now that have hopped on the "work harder" , "10x", "it's not easy" "no pain, no gain" train, but at this point "work harder" has become a platitude, it's losing its resonance every minute. To give you an example is the London Real guy, Brian something, he claims he took Ayuhasca also and it changed his life, he is now a big guru also, you will have to differentiate yourself in this crowded arena.

Thank you for the response. Yeah I've met Brian a couple of times and went to one of his parties in London which was fun.

I'm still brainstorming a lot of ideas, I enjoy going deep into the science and I've also experimented a lot with psychedelics and microdosing after ayahuasca but that's an interesting subject to introduce haha. I think the biggest thing is either niching down into a particular client market, and or producing good content to build a following to sell to over a long period of time
