Brand credibility I guess? I have my website on my label... the problem is, there's no working site... lol.
Ok...I get it. So if I were a customer and I just bought your product. I see a website on there and I'm thinking, "I like this product. What other products do these guys have?" But when I look it up there's nothing there just an error message. So I must be thinking "What gives?! I thought this was a legitimate business?" So I start telling people, "There product is amazing but there website stinks. There's no information about the product or the business. I'm not sure if I want to recommend these guys"

If you were to have a website, what would you want on it?

No promises, just aspirations and goals:

Over 2019 I want to publish Book 2 of my new historical fiction series, the reader magnets for both of my series and either a Book 5 of my MG series or Book 3 of the historical fiction one. I want to pursue a cross-promotion campaign over the year, too, while all that goes on, in order to drive consistent sales.

Once I’ve got a real historical fiction series up and running, I can add a second website and place both under “(myFullName.com)” or something similar.

Also I want to pursue advertising of the new series aggressively, via Amazon and Bookbub, to increase revenues to three figures per month. It’s a modest goal, yet I’d rather set a modest goal and hit it than set a grander goal and fail.

Not doing yearly goals anymore, but here are the 12 wk goals for the 12 week period that started yesterday:
  • Lose 30 lbs - get back to the diet I was on earlier in the year
  • increase monthly net on my ebay store from 1200 to 5k
I still have my annual goals, but I'm also focusing on my 12-week goals more.

Reminiscing back during the end of 2018, I was able to accomplish many of my personal goals (health, learning and mindset) but failed BIGLY on professional and entrepreneurial endeavors.

For 2019:
1) Maintain and continuously reinforce growth habits developed through 2018 (Daily routines and frameworks)

2) Re-launch 2 businesses based on failure feedback from 2018 and newly discovered systems. One by the end of January, the other by the end of February.

3) Finalize and launch copyrighted products. These are already in the works and should be ready to go by March-May, depending on my other workload

4) Transfer from my current job position to another state ASAP. Worked really hard on this one last year with no favorable results; to the point of neglecting everything else (hence the multiple failures). I got some help last month to deal with this which already has resulted in some good headway and also freeing my time from this task; so should be moving in about 2-3 months.

5) Start R&D for 3rd business by mid-year or fall and hopefully launch in the following year of 2020

I've been out of touch with social media and the forum for a few months, but will start to be more active and provide updates throughout.

To a great year,

Such inspiring goals everyone! <3

I started my business in the later part of 2018, so this will be my first full year. My goals are:

1) Make £100,000 profit
2) Have 100,000 Instagram followers
3) Sell 100,000 units.

More of a "light to steer by", but seemed like a nice round number to grab hold of ;)

Ok, I will keep it as short as I can. It is a slow lanner becoming a fast lanner. As a single parent kid growing up on food stamps, government cheese, and living in the projects I always had a deep desire to move up the socio-economic latter and prove myself so I became a physician although I have always had the entrepreneur mindset. Coming out of medical school and residency I realized I was not employable (you entrepreneurs out there know what I mean) so I started my own clinic. I knew I wanted more than what a typical doctors lifestyle was (work crazy hours and be a mega consumer). Physicians are paid per thing they do...….procedure or seeing a patient. In a lot of ways, being a doctor is like being a plumber. When you are a plumber......if you fix a drain, it takes time and are paid per drain to fix. There are only so many drains you can fix in a day as a plumber (as a physician there are only so many patients you can see in a day). Now the smart plumber is one who knows his trade well then hires plumbers to work underneath him....... This is what I have done as a physician. I wanted to be the plumber who has plumbers underneath him. Currently I have 4 offices and I focus on making our business special. My goal, as I am a very specialized, is to grow this company to the point that I can sale it within the next 4 years. I already have one offer but think I could double that offer in 2 years. May sell then. But even if I don't want to get rid of my business , I continually try to eliminate myself in it so that I will continue to have an income forever and need to be present minimally. A couple of trials of this I have done like taking 1 month vacations at a time......it feels great to leave your business for 1 month and return with your numbers actually increasing.

I hope this was helpful. Of note, I was able to pay off my home this year because as my income has transformed over the past couple of years (topped 2M this year), I have lived off of the same income that I started with and eliminated 300K in student debt (slow lane stupid mistakes). I built my families dream home and paid it off with a 600K check. Today, as I was running and listening to Unscripted , it was at the part about FU money. I can relate to what MJ said with not dealing with a bank for your home. It feels great.

Lastly, it is funny how you can make so many stupid mistakes in the slow lane but when you take action and get into the fast lane you can erase a lot of those mistakes.
Kudos, Doc! Welcome and WAY to go! I know the physician world well. May I ask your specialty?

Sorry brother, as you know medicine is a tricky business. I don’t get too personalized because there is a thought that I may be after money and not caring for patients which is the opposite of what I do. Most patients come to us because another patient recommended us. One thing I will tell you is that my specialty does things / procedures that would otherwise be done in a hospital. I calculated I have saved the health care system about 15m in 2018 (outpatient instead of inpatient).

I get it - totally - and more power to ya. I worked for a large system that very slowly "got it" and began moving toward providing more outpatient, rather than inpatient, services. There were so many opportunities to improve processes or innovate there, but the bureaucracy just about killed me. I used to say that getting anything done there was like herding cats... but that would have been unfair to cats.

-Gonna lose 37lbs this year and get to 190 lbs.
-Release my app by this September.
-I'll also make a livable $1500 a month, be it through hustle, or my business plan. This is about the minimum I need to survive without a job.

My largest goals for all of 2019:
  • Move to a different country (currently in the process of doing this)
  • Get my own place with my girlfriend
  • Keep working on my physical fitness and raise my maximum lifts on the big 5 lifts
  • Really sculpt my wardrobe as I actually care quite a bit about fashion
  • And most importantly -- to finally start a successful business (one that makes at least $10k+ per year passively)
I've failed 3 businesses before, one of which I spent $8k on and an entire year of effort. I've learned from my mistakes and I will continue to do so. I know I need to fail quick and to fail cheap if I absolutely must fail. I know that solving a problem that no other product currently solves when it comes to creating a business is paramount now.

I know what it takes to start a successful business. I have the knowledge.

All I need now is the capital and the idea. I will acquire both, and I will take action.

I will not let myself be unsuccessful.

Out of all I've read, I believe your and @Xeon's the most probable for attainment.

The wife and Big Elvis just left the house for an "All Night Service"... so I finally have the entire house to myself and a little time to round up the year.

I have two primary goals for 2019.

First, on the personal front...

By the end of 2019, I will have written and passed the IELTS General Test with band 8 test score or better. This is a mandatory step towards my Canadian immigration quest.

Many of you will remember I was all set to join Red Academy's coding bootcamp in Vancouver in September 2018... but I was denied the visa even though I'd paid my fees in full and checked all the right boxes. I'll re-apply for the visa in May 2019... but as I don't control the outcome, there's not much to say about that as far as measurable goals are concerned.

Sometimes I envy those of you who can just pack and travel to any country you choose to, and those of you for him visa application is a mere formality

On the business front...

By the end of 2019, I will be serving 100+ web design hustlers and digital marketing agencies in my new Managed WordPress Hosting + Maintenance service I'm launching in January 2019 -- hosting and maintaining your clients' websites and providing all the technical support you and your clients can eat for one fixed, low price --- so you can focus on closing new deals and growing your business, instead of fighting with WordPress and hackers. (Execution/Progress thread coming soon)

That's just it.

The reward will compliment the journey. Coming from an African country to emigrate may take a huge amount of effort up front, but when it comes to fruition, you'll be in a much stronger position than most. Keep pushing, you're already 90% of the way there.

In terms of your Wordpress hosting thing, if you want any input on that I'll be glad to help you out. I have extensive experience with servers, programming and hosting. I don't know what you're doing but please (PLEASE) make sure it's on cloud VPS servers, like CloudWays. If you want to talk, you're welcome to email rpeck@frontlineutilities.co.uk.

--

Goals for 2019:

- Get boxed "VPS Deployment" software onto Amazon
- Promote deploy software and achieve 5+ sales daily (yearly subscription)
- Hold programming workshop (RTS or spreadsheet) (free) (Euro cities)
- Legit clothes (Alumo/TF etc)

General aspirations

- Buy fl.co.uk

- Work on object-oriented "build" engine for web based applications (this)

- Build out first edition of Digital Commonplace (SGM) + hire out CrazyHorse Paris for launch evening with this hostess as presenter (or similar) and array_rand([Luisa De Freitas, Julia Bergshoeff, Marine Lorphelin]) as muse. Prod will be $595/yr ($1,095 not sure yet) and will be a cross between Zapier, Webmail and an RTS (real world) experience. Evening will be similar to this. Would be good to invite some of the Twitterati.

As a note on this, I already started the groundwork with the models (explained previously). Bergshoeff costs $15k a day and doesn't do "non fashion". She's done work for Armani and other stuff. Luisa de Freitas I found on this video and Marine Lorphelin appeared when I was reading up on "marine fish". All these women exude a sophisticated elegance that I want to capture with whatever we're putting out. I want FL to be about creating truly inspiring experiences for people.

Probably 1,000's other models that could be the muse. Difficult because they need to have more than a particular look; hard to describe. Lily Aldridge. The three I've mentioned fit the role perfectly. One other who almost has it is Natalie Ludwig, sister of one of the stars of "Vikings" (found her after looking at his info online).

- Take Frontline to $10m+/yr mark

Q1 - Study and Pass the PE Exam to receive my Professional Engineering License (Having my license allows more flexibility and option to preform individual engineering consulting.)
Q2- Analyze three properties daily (focusing on opportunity zones) to move towards purchasing my second multifamily property. Send offer’s to sellers based on the area and numbers.
Q3 & Q4 – Not close enough to pick major goal.
Yearly – Read 30 Books, workout three times a week, meditate every day, create the habit of waking up at 6.

I already have an execution thread for the two ideas I'm pursuing but here are my goals for 2019 (health permitting; no point being the overachiever in the graveyard! ;)):

1. License Idea 1 by end of Q1 - this is defined as 'licensing agreement signed'. I accept that the licensee company might want to refine the idea before taking it to market so don't want to set "see product on shelf" as my goal because that is out of my hands.

2. Refine Idea 2, having purchased a product and attend a conference in the relevant industry by end of Q1 (conference is early March). It is harder to quantify this goal because I'm not entirely sure what obstacles there are so I'll carry on thinking about it. I have purchased the $200 product that seems to use the same material/tech that I think I can manipulate for my own product.

3. Try Keto for 6 weeks to determine how I feel. I am already quite low carb but want to experiment to see if it makes any significant difference to how I feel. I start tomorrow as I've already done the shopping. My end date on the calendar is 9th Feb so I will report back that week.

4. Enter into a tennis tournament at my local club (either singles or doubles) by end of the year as my 'fun goal'.

5. Purchase another property by end of 2019.

6. Move jobs - I had an approach yesterday but the salary is not worth the move. I was in discussions with another firm last year which I hope will reignite and be secured by end of Q1.

7. Not sure if I should set this one again as I've been trying for the last few years without any success and am pretty much ready to give up (don't get me wrong: get approached by nice guys/interest but haven't met anyone I feel the same about) but try to meet The One. How I intend to do this: just do more that will increase interaction. Aim is to do at least 2 things per week that I've not done before - example: join a boxing club.

Happy New Year & bonne chance to everyone :fistbump::thumbsup:

I've given myself the following goals:
- Entrepreneurship: Launch a MVP of a financial / stock analysis site I mocked up a while ago to address some need of mine
- Fun: Organize a theater in the park show
- Fitness: Get closer to Boston Marathon qualifier
- Money: save, save, save

Done.
@MJ DeMarco , I appreciate you running this forum, because it is really motivating and gives people like me a mentor/support group for busting out of my old ways of thinking, which is very difficult to do without reinforcement and reminders.
Thanks also to all the people on this forum who so willingly provide advice.
Happy New Year to everyone.

Very inspiring this thread, loving it.

Okay, here it goes.
Business / money
By the end of April I'll have my current business running in such a manner that I myself am less needed and in the same time i get more customers.

By the end of the year I'll have increased my current revenue from this business from $4000 to at least $20.000 monthly.

In April / May I'll have decided what my fastlane business will be. There is no lack of ideas, but ideas are worthless until you start act on them. Execution is king. So I'll pick one and stick with it. Will share it on this forum and by the end of the year have good results. Maybe not yet in revenue but sure as hell in progress.

Learn more on investing and actually invest with leverage. Crypto has my interest and I'll become a expert on this. Making money from it by selling the shovels and not digging for gold myself.

Health
Continue going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, continue with bodybuilding and become huge with only 10% body fat. (lost two years ago 25 kilos, start bodybuilding last year all with success.) In march I'll become 50 years young and need to lose some extra around the waist.

Change in diet by eating only two times a week meat, three times a week fish and 2 times a week vegetarian. Eliminate snacks, sugar and other processed food out of my life.

Social life
Make at least 5 new friends this year by engaging certain activities.
Make a effort to find a girlfriend who is really worthwhile.
Spend more quality time with my 17 year old son.

Make at least one person smile or preferably laugh every day.

Personal grow
Read one book a week by watching less television.
Learn how to play at least three Nirvana songs on the guitar.
Continuing with a more positive attitude (Started last year with amazing results!)
Learn to love myself more and be less critical on myself.
Only surround myself with people worthwhile. Positive people who don't complain on everything every day. People that not constantly blaming others for their misfortune but people with a positive mindset and aware that only themselves are the ones accountable for how fortunate they can be in their lives.

Helping people less fortunate in a way they can move on to a better life.

Being a entrepreneur means to have a certain mindset. I'll do everything this year (and the years to come) to create and maintain this mindset by reading the right and less right books (be critical), by surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs both online and offline.

Start right away to come out of lurker mode I've been in last year and be way more active on this forum and contribute with quality content and a smile.

And most important: Enjoy life along the way!!

Note: this is not what i want to do this year but what i will do this year and would like it when by the end (or during) this year someone will call me on this as i have to show that I'm actually doing it.

OK...……..what have you done so far for your goals. You had this week to start them !!!!!!

1. New office (office #4): interviewed personal and have location region secured. I only have 6 months to get this done and start seeing patients. This is a big push. Alot of regulations and govermental things. Prior to this, stats/statistics about where to locate (3 regions/cities where considered) was done. Did email a large office today about purchasing it also. I can run it better and make it more profitable in 3 months. Centralization of items and change systems I already have in place. I do have a possible avenue to purchase it without any of my own money or going into debt. I know that sounds crazy but I would purchase the business and sell off some part of it which would likely pay for the original business amount. Won't discuss this further unless it happens/progresses but it would be pretty cool and I think some of you would like what I did. Don't know yet if they want to sell but I got out and asked.
2. Office #1: growing, adding provider ("plummer") within 3 months. Have 3 candidates. Interviews during the next 2 weeks.
3. Office #3: decisions / expectations in place for growth after 1st quarter. This one will be the increase in income this year to push me from 2M to 2.5M. This office is the one growing significantly.

Sorry if doing something like this, I am new to posting and don't know all of the normals. Maybe I should do one of those other kind of threads? One slow lane issue I have is that my business is dependent on people / staff. I have automated a significant amount but I could look further. I do try to fix/cure issues with technology as much as I can.

@rpeck90 Thanks for the rep! Tried to send my thanks via private messaging but seems you turned it off lol

I noticed you mentioned Cloudways in your post. What a coincidence....I just signed up with them and in the process of migrating everything over before launch.
I feel this type of hosting is the hosting of the future while those traditional clunky CPanel platforms are on a decline (slow and bulky).

Not sure if your branding/marketing book is going to be out this year, the one you mentioned sometime last year :)

Branding

I've already written the branding post (15k words), I'll tweak it and publish it after MJ sees it. If the post does well, it may be appropriate to put into a book. I sincerely thank you for your support :)

The post also has some controversial stuff in it like a big ol' pic of titties...

I'm staying low here. Reading, learning and slowly building my projects, but this year I will rise!
1. Launch my online business in a week or two and get it to a level, that it sustains me , no matter where I'm located. Make enough until summer that I can pay rent, food and other basic stuff anywhere in the world (I love to travel).
2. Launch another business in next few months. Physical handmade products. Need to fail 1000 times until that product is ready for sale (ingredients, right proprotions etc.)
Both projects will have execution threads when I get them moving. (First sale or something).
3. Mindset improvements in general. This includes 1000 page list, therefore I won't go into details. Less hate, more acceptance. I really should implement some social activities.
4. In summer, compete in my first triathlon races. (I was the guy who was always picked last in sports class, let's turn it around).
5. Make life for family much more comfortable. Lower middle class sucked a$$, It's improving, but I need to speed this up. Main goal here - to be able to tell my mother: "Hey, quit that job, You don't need to work anymore. Like. Ever."
So December 31, 2019 for me looks like. I am at my peak health and fitness and mental state, owning and successfully running 2 businesses, while completely turning around the lifestyle (broke to consedirably above mediocre).
Wish You all the best of success!

  • Submit my PhD and pass the viva. Then get a high paying job that will allow me to fund fastlane ventures
  • Start dating again and get a queen before summer
  • Get my a$$ to an MMA gym for at least one class, which I have been postponing for a while
  • Make 1000$ freelancing
  • I've had a hard time letting go of my first fastlane idea. I will finally come to terms with the fact that my idea isn't working and abandon it. Maybe sell it for cheap on one of these website markets to make at least some $$ from it
  • Figure out the how-to and costs of getting a prototype done for my next fastlane business idea

The goal I want to accomplish that I have not achieved until now is to build my business in 2019, but to be measurable and say how many sales I want to make, I need to know what my vehicle will be, what business I'm going to build, the idea, if it is digital.

How to set a goal for the ideas phase? Because to establish sales I need to know what business I'm going to build.
Look at what your skills are... how can you make people's lives a little easier?
Start doing that and be smart about the progress and you will create a business over time...

Creating a business just to make sales sounds like money-chasing... which often doesn't last long.
You are here for the long term, so build a strategy that confirms that

So the question: How can you help others? / add value to others' lives?

This year I will do the following:

Goal 1. Be a better father and husband.

How: Learn to separate things better. Be home when at home, be at work while at work..Manage time better. Listen better to my wife and kids. Read between lines. Schedule time to do things with kids and date nights etc with wife. Everything I do is for them really, and ironically I have spent more time on other things than with them.

Goal 2. Learn small-cap stock day-trading and become profitable enough to quit my job by end of year. End game is to at least replace my job income (hopefully more) and only spend 2 hours a day in the am trading. Ive tried to start a biz and its just too much with a full-time job and family..If I can get my full time job out of the way, I can devote the time needed to start a biz. End game is to at least replace my job income (hopefully more) and only spend 2 hours a day in the am trading, which frees up enough time to start a business, while paying the bills and getting that stress under control. I know this is possible because I see others doing it, and I know people personally that do it. About a 10% success rate, so my efforts will need to be extraordinary.

How: I'm in a class being educated by a super successful day trader (no, not Tim Sykes). I've identified the areas where the 90% go wrong, and will focus on mastering those massively. I hope to short cut the learning curve significantly as a result. Will trade in sim until consistently profitable for min of 30 days before real $ trading. Ramp up slowly with real $ from there. To make the sim more like real $ so I take it seriously, I've have attached some powerful Whys. Like I will absolutely not get to trade w real $ until I prove I can do this in the sim. If I can't do it in the sim, I surely can't do with real $. The ability to make a full-time location independant living w 2 hours a day is just too appealing to me. I also believe it suits my personality and abilities. Time will tell.

Goal 3. Put on 15 lbs of muscle, with little to no fat. A tall order at 42 years of age..

How: I've talked with Stan Efferding, who is an absolute genius in this area. (He's also a successful entrepreneur). He has provided priceless info and suggestions, all for free..Going to buy his book to thank him (he wouldn't accept any $). I've already gotten the blood test and started to optimize my hormones. I've changed my diet per his recommendations and have already seen improvements. Will do blood re-test soon and adjust from there. Hormonal environment has to be on point to achieve big muscle gains. May need testosterone therapy to achieve those kinds of gains..my current levels are normal-high but will likely need to go higher to achieve 15lbs.

That's it for this year. I wanted to keep things sort of manageable and realistic, while pushing the envelope at the same time. For all goals, I will deploy the relentless persistence approach. Constantly attacking from all sides and new angles, and intelligently adjusting until desired results are achieved. Also, Ive adjusted my morning affirmations to reflect these big 3 goals. This will keep things fresh and keep me focused daily.
