I should start by saying that we don't get TV at all in our house.
So we have NEVER seen the ShamWOW commercials (I saw it online last week, for the first time, when I was trying to figure out MJ's new avatar and name).
Bit of an annoying dood, I must say.
However, we were at the Napa County Fair this past summer, and my wife (who is a self-admitted sucker for "as seen on TV" stuff) saw a ShamWOW demonstration.
Same exact demo as on TV.
Didn't realize this at the time of course, since we'd never seen the infomercial.
But looking back, it was scary how much the guy selling ShamWOW was, literally, word for word, action for action, an automaton of Vince's presentation.
Creepy. Even answered our questions with direct quotes from his presentation (as I said, he seemed like an automaton-- NEVER went off script).
We bought them. I love making my wife happy, and she was (happy).
She admitted later that day that her dad was a sucker for this kind of stuff, too (he passed away a few years ago). So buying these pieces of Rayon were a fond trip down memory lane for her, as well.
Now for the shocker:
This stuff actually WORKS!
We use it several times a week when giving our daughter a bath. Prior to using ShamWOW, there was water EVERYWHERE-- we used several towels to mop it all up.
Now, we just have one ShamWOW on the sink counter, and another on the floor.
The 2 absorb ALL of the water our little aquatic darling shoots and dumps out of the sink.
We just wring them out when we're done, and they're ready for next time.
So as much as I HATE the infomercial (now that I've seen it), I have to post a testimonial.
