Alright, who came up with that idea?

Maybe because of the hidden stinking lump of turd (see page 5 in Fastlane) in golden?
Well, maybe fake gold. Then certainly yes.

And then I see billboards sometimes from banks, banners from beauty magazines, etc. with SMILING OLD PEOPLE! Yes, as if aging is so cool! And now you have got time to really enjoy life, and golly gee! You are going to be the richest guy in the retirement home!

They remind people what they are devoted to.
Let's hope tha biology researchers find a way to kill aging with it's own weapons.

However, as a fastlaner, the real golden years are not wasted on somebody else and time traded for money, so we are off great!

But I am curious, how who came up with that obvious euphemism inside of the waiting room for death. (@MJ DeMarco phrased it very well in the book!).

I think those years are 'golden' because you can look back at the legacy you have created in your days of youth, and you can look forward to see it live on in the lives of the generation that follow after.

Then I googled it up, and here's what I found:
The Term “Golden Years” Was Coined In 1959 As An Advertising Pitch For Sun City

It was a marketing scheme by Sun City for the first ever retirement home of its kind....

'This concept of retirement as an endless holiday, however, isn’t even as old as today’s retirees. The actual phrase “the golden years” was coined in 1959 in an advertising campaign for America’s first large-scale retirement community. It was a roll of the dice to see whether folks “55 and better” would embrace “an active new way of life,” move away from their families, and buy one of the modest homes on a $2 million golf-resort development in the middle of the Arizona desert.'

'The campaign was a success. On the first weekend, 100,000 people showed up to tour Sun City’s model homes and see for themselves if a lifestyle free from responsibility and the constraints of working life could actually be possible. For many seniors in the 1950s, retirement was a lonely time of decline. They had the financial support of Social Security, but once they left the workforce, they had little purpose in their lives. Retirees saw themselves as “too old to work, too young to die.” No wonder they grasped with both hands the idea of retirement as essentially a second childhood!'

Yup, another SCRIPT. Still, not everyone has the chance to have many things go well in their early days due to decisions and other factors. And not all old folks get that kind of service.

Where I come from, there's a growing trend of working adults who dump their parents at group homes to rot or just leave them to their devices.

I see.

But with what @MJ DeMarco calls "a stinking lump of turd" (I agree 100%), the enjoyment lacks. One might be financially free, but the body is in a state where one is less capable.

Like it, or not, everyone is going to grow old -- or they're going to die along the way. That's a fact. It's true even for you guys on this forum -- no matter how successful you are in your businesses! Life has no exemptions.
So, now that I've stated the obvious -- I tell you how I feel about all this from my senior citizen's point of view -- yes, I'm 64 years old and comfortable being at this stage of my life...

1. I believe that I'm good at business building because of my work over the last 40+ years.
2. I'm healthy enough to do what want, and I have access to resources that a lot of young people only dream about.
3. I did NOT waste my time when I was young. (There was no internet or opportunities to have an e-business.) Success has many mountains to climb, and I'm proud of the ones that I have conquered.

Say whatever you want. Hopefully you'll live long enough to become a senior citizen. My advise to you is live your life in way where you don't have a string of gut wrenching regrets to deal with in your later life.

WTF is your problem?
All week long you've been shitting on "old people" mostly your dad. Don't you have some young guy sh*t to do?
I'm not sure what young guy shit is supposed to be lol.

I used to have that attitude as well. Then I realised I was hating the system that brought my parents and others to that stage. It's like hating the criminals for the wicked influence within them, but not their individuality.

There is some hope, that a biology company manages to kill aging, because it is something literally nobody with working brain WANTS.

Don't worry, you'll grow out of it
The golden years for me started a while ago, just concentrating on putting more gold into the golden for now.

Galaxy16, are you going to do something or just blather?

Looking at your post history, doesn't appear anything in there indicating you're looking to get rich.
For your information, this is the dogma and rant thread.
Apparently, it provoked you.

Actually, I don't mind growing old. Life is a process. I wouldn't go back to being young for anything. Those were painful years that I wouldn't want to repeat. I'm growing old with the man I love. I've done more in my life than most do in 4 or 5 lifetimes. Wisdom, that comes with years, can't be overrated.
Best of luck with your quest to turn back the hands of time...
