The business partners and I are going in different directions; they're full time on it, I cut my shares back and only do a little bit each week. Still plenty of rev, we made plenty of major major mistakes and were lucky to get it back to a sweet spot to be honest haha. That's entrepreneurship I guess.Welcome back @codo3500, I havent seen you post in a while.
How is your fitness coaching / app going?
I would see to see an overall update on what you have been up to.
I think they can't (obviously they can) see your conversations and as you only ask them/propose them on Messenger and not on the post publicly, you're someway not against the terms. It should work like a charm, but BE CAREFUL with the viral part.
Tagging friends or telling them to share in any way is AGAINST FB TERMS now. This is what they say about it:
"3. Promotions may be administered on Pages or within apps on Facebook. Personal Timelines and friend connections must not be used to administer promotions (ex: “share on your Timeline to enter” or “share on your friend's Timeline to get additional entries”, and "tag your friends in this post to enter" are not permitted)."

They will ban you IF they notice, so make sure to have an additional ad account in place (with a different credit card) if you tris this strategy using the viral part of it.
From what i know you can't change a text after the ad is running, but even if it's after or before the ads is running, if you say 'tag your friend' and Facebook see it or someone make a request to facebook to take down your contest because you've done that you're done.Well, I certainly hope so. Maybe you can add the "tag your friends" part to the sequence after FB approved the ad.

That's why this technique of asking gently in Messenger is great because it's not public.
Sorry I don't get you.Telling people to comment below to Enter is against the FB TOS at this point.
So, be careful with that.
It isn't actually against their TOS but they don't like it and they will start demoting posts that ask for comments.
So they will not ban your ad account for asking to comment, but it will make this strategy somewhat less effective I guess.
Sorry I don't get you.
Isn't the point of the strategy to tell people to comment below to enter the competition?
How is that against the TOS?
Or has Facebook suddenly changed their TOS?
If so, doesn't that make the entire strategy basically against Facebook's TOS?
Great answer, that's what i've done for my facebook pages, i didn't mentionned that techniqueYes and no... Think outside the box and try to say the same thing without actually calling them out.
Instead of: Tag a friend who loves oranges.
Maybe this: Who's your "one" friend that loves oranges?
Think outside the box for the comment part too...

I'm writing "Comment" with a weird Spanish, like Çomment Now. Seems to work.So it looks like you refrained in this ad from asking people reading it to share or tag friends to get an additional entry in the contest. Did you avoid doing this because of Facebook's new policy about not asking explicitly for Likes, Shares, etc.?
I just read the rest of the thread. Apologies for the redundancy. But the question could be reworded to: What are some more creative ways to skirt Facebook's ToS?
Great work man!Did not expect this, my giveaway has gone viral.
I am 5 days into a 10 day campaign. My facebook boost settings are as targeted as it can get. My total budget for this 10 day facebook boost is $100 (though it's projected to cost a little less than $100 when all is said and done. My prize has a total value of about $50.
Up until this point, I have:
323 opt-in subscribers on facebook messenger.
250 likes on the post, 50 shares, 700 comments.
Another tweak that I found to work quite well is asking the contestant what color product they would like just in case they win. This puts them in the mindset of winning. Hopefully, they will just buy the product if they don't win the contest since they already pictured themselves with said product.
I also included a link of my Shopify site for them to check out the colors. Because of this, visits to my site have skyrocketed, though there have been no sales, which makes sense since the contest is still ongoing. I also added top-selling amazon products related to my niche, to my Shopify site using the app Spreadr (affiliate marketing).
I am now brainstorming on what the best strategy is to convert these leads when the contest is complete. As of now, I am planning on offering everyone 20% off my products.
