Are you not excited that your power to command labour is being completely revolutionised? It is not inconceivable that what in the past took a company of 100, 1,000 or even 10,000 employees could be completed by one person.

Nobody knows what will happen in the future, but thinking about the probabilistic scenarios can help guide decisions. Jobs will certainly disappear due to AI and automation, but there are counter-forces that will hopefully balance any sudden disruptions to labor markets. One of the benefits of productivity improvements is supposed to be a general price deflation of goods produced, but this is offset by inflation and superior, and more sophisticated products, making previous products obsolete. Consumers will see better deals on future goods. Another problem is demographics. Developed countries are having fewer babies, leading to a trend of populations getting older. There will be greater pressure on social support systems for change. I can see systems like social security, medicare and medicaid evolving so that a greater part of the population receives some kind of government assistance, such as a universal basic income. I'm optimistic about the future, and my view is mega-corporations will be largely automated, while the service sector serving niches will be led by entrepreneurs and innovators.

What is Jack Ma considering pain—physical, emotional, spiritual? If one looks back to the beginning of humans inhabiting this planet, there are thousands of life threatening experiences, difficult challenges and lost lives. Think about famine, the Great flood, war, sickness, murder, mayhem, liars, thieves and the list goes on, it all existed then and still does. What is unique now is that we learn “know” about it before, during and after worldwide, therefore, it appears there will be more pain than happiness in the next 30 years.

Furthermore, the quanity of pain only exists in the mind of each person. While some people react to everything as if it is a crises, others accept what is, do what they need to do, thereby, omitting pain versus happiness into the equation. The degree of physical and/or emotional pain each person experiences is unique to that person. And let us not forget each experience is an opportunity to learn about who we truly are.

young people should build strong personalities.

self confidence, poise , courage, etc.

this is the ground for developping life saving skills

hard times are coming and this will be real hard times

i can't say further because this will be called " conspiracy theories"

but the fact remains that hard times are waiting for us anyway

think on this quote:

In America, 25 year olds today are much worse off than their parents were. More debt, less opportunities. The internet and robots were a contributing factor, but not the driving force. They will continue to play a role, but they are not to blame.

This is bull. The opportunities that exist today are wide open because of the technological advancements we have seen over the past couple decades. In terms of potential, people growing up in the world right now have a higher potential limit than those fifty years ago.

I'm in the category of under 25, and anytime one of my friends complains about the lack of opportunities I kind of lose it. Yeah, the whole "work for a company for fifty years and retire with a sweet pension" days are over, but in terms of being able to start a business and build a brand, the tools exist and it's never been easier.

Society always takes awhile to adapt to change. We have adapted slowly to the technology that has been invented. But the opportunity is there. Those that adapt will see massive windfalls, those that don't will struggle. Is this different than any other time in history?
