For the past couple of weeks I've been selling food at school. The grocery store in my town sells cookies for about a dollar a box for 12 cookies. I'm going to come to this thread everyday and update you guys on how I did selling food. When I tell you guys how much I make everyday, I'm not trying to brag but just give everybody an insight on my profits.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I would check the laws in your state to be sure

Awesome! You're making moves. My brother is 12 and he's doing the same thing with candy. Those have a pretty great profit margin and everyone LOVES candy. Be careful though! You're too young for any serious consequences but I can guarantee you it's not allowed. Just stay under the radar.

Ah! When I was in elementary school I did two business ventures like this.

First (this was the time the internet use was not widespread and Dragon Ball was all the rage) I found Dragon Ball images online, the ones in black and white you could color, made copies at a typography near my house, and sold them between a 5x markup and a 10x markup, depending on the image.
It exploded. A whole business was born. Kids started spending their lunch money on my product.
Unfortunately, that's when some parent complained. I still remember the teacher's walking towards me in the hallway and grabbing me by the ear.

Second I tried to sell chewing gums, candy, that kind of stuff.
I had one of these boxes full of different brands:

When the teacher discovered this one, she made me "share".
F*cking communist.

Slow day today, I didn't make as much money as I had hoped to but the demand for the product I was selling was low so I'm going to change the type of cookies I sell. The soda that I sold today did well. One reason I think that it was a slow day today is because most of the kids buy the food with chore money and they haven't gotten their allowance this week.

^ A 13 & 14 y/o on the forum. ^ Damn. Stay the course guys.

@JadenGreen Are you going to attempt to sell the cookies for $1 each?

edit: I used to sell (mostly) gum packs during my freshman year in high school.
Yeah I've been selling cookies for the last two weeks and I've made about $50.

Australia implemented a "healthy eating schools" policy while I was at high school. Right next door was a supermarket I walked past every day to get to school. Some friends and I would buy a case of Coca Cola, stash them in an empty locker, and sell them for $1 each. Made a comfy $5 a lunch break in winter, and some days up to $30 a lunch break in summer.

candy is the way to go! Can get 50 bars at costco for around 14-16 bucks. Sell at $1 each.

A trick you can use, Join a sports team. That allows you to carry around a fundraiser candy box, not sure if they still have those. Im 24. Anyway point is, say you are raising money to pay for your uniforms and equipment. Never tell anyone how many times you replenish the 50 box. If you sell through 20 boxes, say you only sold through 2 :)

Small tip.

Do you have a cell phone (or at least an e-mail address)?

If you do, put your phone number and a message saying "Full-sized bars $1" on little sticky notes (the real small ones). Buy a big bag of fun-sized candy and stick your phone number on all of the pieces of candy. Give the candy out to everyone you know. If anyone asks for some, give it to them as well.

Now you've got eyeballs.

You *may* be able to get your teachers in on it if you can sell candy for cheaper than the teacher's lounge vending machine does (or if you can sell better candy).

Note: This isn't the safest strategy because some admin of the school will likely find a sticky note on the floor. You'll be shut down quick. Schools generally don't like people selling things if the school isn't getting the money. But if you've got enough eyeballs, I wouldn't be surprised if you start doing $50 days.

This is a good place to start. I assume you're in like 7-8th grade or something? Once you get shut down (which you will), start one of these businesses. They're all-cash businesses that any kid can do. Average order values are $20+ or more, and the jobs are only a few hours (some are as quick as 15 minutes).

Also, do NOT sell drugs. Trust me. That's not a scene you want to be in. It's tempting, but don't do it. Good luck.

Today was my best day of the week one kid tried to blackmail me into giving him cookies or he would tell the principal but I reasoned with him and gave him 20% off a cookie. Turns out he was just mad that he couldn't afford one.

I did this with candy in middle school. I bought packs of 8 mini candy bars for a dollar and sold them for 50 cents each. I did pretty well too, but as others have mentioned be careful. If you get caught once you'll probably just be told not to do it again, but the second time you won't be so lucky. Also a piece of advice as someone who used to do this themselves, ALWAYS take payment upfront. Otherwise there's a good chance you'll never see that money.

Damn how many other people sold food in MS/HS? I was on that pop tart hustle back in the day, could get a box of 4 packs for $1 and sell each pack for $1 each. Had all the flavors the student store didn't stock. Its was all good until I got shut down by my econ teacher.
