Dear Board Members,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say hi and introduce Myself.
Arrabista here coming to you live from Abu Dhabi.
Aussie by nationality, but middle eastern ancestry... stumbled upon MJ De Marco's book last year, have read it over and over again to make sure i retain as much as i can...amazing book amazing forum..

About me , Grew up in the middle East , civil war , dad traveled around to numerous countries so by a young age i had a very good facility of accepting the difference in peoples's ethnicity, beliefs languages etc.
Ended up in Australia to complete my university degree. I am passionate about the performing Arts post my degree i wanted to pursue this and got into the top 3 acting schools in australia..the government actually paid for my 3 years studying...
Graduated got a top agent and pretty much lived a fantastic lifestyle in my twenties..main stream theater shows, touring Shakespeare ..playing bad guys on tv shows ..but i wanted more..
you see my father was a great business man ..but he ended up with nothing in retirement...his belief systems about money ,investment were sidewalk as MJ would say ..nothing against him ..i love and respect him :) also alot of my buddies who were actors has such a low terrible financial iq...
Major life changing turning point was at 30 ..deep down i always knew that something life changing was gonna happen to me on that year..my expectation was that big break that would catapult me into another league in terms of my work...
Instead i was diagnosed with" tubercular meningitis" after contracting it in Lombok,Indonesia and spent my 30th birthday in a coma for a month..luckily i lived to tell the tale.
i always believed i would make it through, ,i made my physiotherapist cry cause she thought i might never walk ...i walked out of the hospital after 6 weeks from initially not being able to stand, sit or walk without nurse support. Still needed 6 months off work...but i never doubted i would be ok...
That incident wiped me out financially .i came back strong ..got my shit together..and started to be grateful for the TIME i was given again...i read , learnt a,attended seminars ,volunteered my time for free when robert kiyosaki came out to australia to watch him speak ..you name it i read it .....
Fast forward a few more years and after getting work gigs in the middle east ,working in Australia as well as coaching clients in communication skills i was able to buy my first property in Australia (350k). I saw 70 before buying my first !..i did letter drops and bought it direct with the seller. within 2 years had 100k in equity. Bought 2nd , 3rd and 4th property.
All these are tenanted..i am doing ok now..very grateful to count my blessings..
Right now I have a fairly senior position out here in the middle east..but time is still attached to making money but not for long ...... this forum has ignited something deep within me .reason i share this with you is i feel so many people share so much on this board and i am truly grateful for this:
Russ H ,ViGILANTE, KAK RUNUM,zen*******,snowbank ,AMAIL all the other board members i have missed and of course MJ de Marco...
thank you ..
I might not be on this forum everyday but just wanted to show my gratitude and stop lurking , i am coming out of the shadows...
