Hey Fastlane fam,

I'm thinking about creating a NEW step-by-step playbook for businesses who want to get clients from LinkedIn like we do... using my latest techniques.

But I’m not sure what aspects people need most help with.

So I’m asking anyone who uses or would like to use LinkedIn to acquire clients to help me out by answering 3 simple questions:

:one: What’s the single biggest challenge you have in getting more leads or clients from LinkedIn?

:two: Who have you bought marketing training from in the past?

:three: What marketers do you follow?

It will take about 60 seconds...maybe 90 if you take your time :)

Thanks in advance.

1. I find all the search tools a bit overwhelming, and all the “Rules” to maximize the algorithm to get customers come to me.
2. Alzay Calhoun I bought from in the past and was very happy with his “Productize” course.
3. I follow him, Tim Ferris, Seth Godin, and Louis Grenier

I want to help but not sure I can @Black_Dragon43.

I'm (currently?) not trying to get leads on LinkedIn, I'm just trying to figure out how to post so I have fun and help more people.

For what it's worth:

What’s the single biggest challenge you have in getting more leads or clients from LinkedIn?
N/A?

My challenge is posting content I want to and that helps people, getting it in front of more and more people over time, without being on a mad content treadmill, and without running ads.

Who have you bought marketing training from in the past?
I bought Justin Welsh's LinkedIn training which was good but not for me.

I bought a course by Dr Glenn Livingston's in 2009/2010 and loved it.

I liked Jeff Miller's no-nonsense presentation style.

I like Laurel Portie but not her loooong videos.

What marketers do you follow?
None. I actively mute them in my LinkedIn feed. I even mute people who post content formatted like a marketer or influencer, or who repost that type of content.

I currently like following and listening to Noah Kagan and Nathan Barry.

1. Social media is not my expertise. I've got a lot of content but no time to learn LinkedIn best practices.

That’s interesting Andy, mind sharing what the course was and what value you got out of it?
It was about using Google Ads paid search to survey people for all the search terms they went through from research to buying.

So if someone searched "turmeric" then the ad would send them to a survey asking what they were looking for, why, how hard it was to find the information, what would be needed to knock their socks off, etc.

Someone searching "turmeric pain relief" would be asked the same things.

Over time you could build up a picture of what was needed at each stage in the searchers journey.

I didn't run Google Ads to surveys but it made me realise the importance of the search terms and the intent behind them.

Me too!

Maybe start posting daily?
  1. Log in.
  2. Check your previous few posts to see how they've done. Adjust your posting strategy based on any learnings.
  3. Reply to non-spammy DMs.
  4. Reply to comments on your own posts.
  5. Check the feed and reply to things you like for 5 mins max.
  6. Post your daily piece of content.
  7. Logoff.

The trick is to NOT get sucked into the social media platforms and go down the rabbit-hole.

Maybe play one or two of your favourite tunes and log off when they finish?

1. Using LinkedIn right now to connect with others but want to use it in the future for helping other (aspiring) entrepreneurs with my content. I have the challenge to figuring out how LinkedIn works (i. e. which contact inquiries I should accept for grow my network and which want to use my network to sell their products/services).

2. I currently go to a business school where marketing lessons are part of the training (there is a tuition fee, so I bought it somehow).

3. None.

This has been a fun focus for me recently on LinkedIn.

1.) awareness is always the challenge. People are distracted and at times even the best content doesn't get reach.
2.) Don't remember names outside Justin Welsch but it was all very similar either way.
3.) Lots of them, the one I can think of that is LI specific is Jasmin Alic

The LI feed is tough, I have been using Aware to do my engagement because it substitutes as "Lists from X" Where I can build feeds of people or content types to view. I like it better than the regular LI feed since it is littered with different post types. (this also presents the inherent awareness problem because this is the feed everyone uses by default)

I like to browse the LI feed natively and observe what attracts and turns me off.

I'm hitting the mute button a lot but can't seem to get rid of all the ghostwriter, content marketer, and LinkedIn influencer content.

I would venture to guess you can't get rid of it, because LI has a unique challenge of far more ear's to mouths. Most people that use it do not want to post our of fear of their current or future employers. So the influencers and content marketers fill that void and I'd wonder if LI just uses that as a crutch to fill space between ads because it's more valuable than showing peoples work anniversaries or others self promotion posts.

Only a theory though!

Hey man, that thread title was worrying, so first of all glad you're good!

What’s the single biggest challenge you have in getting more leads or clients from LinkedIn?
Not sure how to best go about it. Ads? Posts? Something else?
I only have connections with those I know.

Who have you bought marketing training from in the past?
Can't remember any.

What marketers do you follow?
None right now.
