@D11FYY you are right. I should be supervising the maids just to make sure everything goes smooth. I will have my checklist and will be checking them. This way they dont start to slack off and ruin my brand. Thanks for the help

I know college girls who clean houses for rich dudes and make $100+ an hour.

Your logo just reminded me of it.

There are actual topless maid companies out there. One of them is my "competition" :)

Yeah mate but what im trying to get is be hands on. Show the workers the way it should be done. Set the example!
Dont stand back and just watch them, it will be demeenering for them even if you are their boss ; plus it should get you to know them better and suss them out a bit further as a person and worker you need to build relationships with your work force too.
No bother Twiiz just trying to help mate you will be making $500 a month off this in no time.

I've seen that, all the maids are stock photo models apparently.

UPDATE:

I re posted another craigslist ad not using their mail relay. This time I have had over 10+ replies and 6 have already filled out the online application. I will wait until tomorrow to start calling them and setting up in person interviews this Friday.

Does anyone have any interviewing tips?

@D11FYY thank you so much! These look absolutely wonderful. Very professional yet creative. I love it. If you can get the palm tree and cleaning utensil that would be amazing! If not the ones you already made a great too!

UPDATE:

I am now looking to start my facebook and adwords campaign.

I have just spent 4 hours on my adwords campaign. I have over 80 keywords in 26 ad groups. It took me a long time to get this done. I am low on cash so right now my budget is $10 a day but i am willing to raise it since i received free adwords credit ($100 when you buy $25)

I spent 20 minutes on a facebook campaign. The ad goes straight to my website. I have not optimized this part yet and am only spending $5 a day to get a feel of Facebook advertising.

Spend your money on getting flyers mate. You need and want local business first before you venture out.
Offer them a second free clean or something on the flyer or discount if they use your service before Xth July 2014.

I feel like online advertising would be better. The USP is the stream lines online only booking. This would be an easier sell to someone already online. Also the "beauty" of the website is another selling point as it builds trust and you can see that with flyers. I would focus on flyers if I had cheap prices.

I will do a mix of online and offline but mainly online.

One tip about the logos even though the ones above are brilliant. At some point or another you will have to print your logo in black and white.
It's not a huge deal but I always design logos or any business print in B/W first then make a copy with color. Just a tip.

Those look good @D11FYY

UPDATE:

I have narrowed down the applications to four people. I have moved their information into a spread sheet for more organization. I have phone interviews set up tomorrow for 3 of them. The other one didn't pick up so i will call her again tonight.

Facebook advertising isnt going to good. My cpc is $1 which is horrible. I need to work on this.

Google adwords is acting weird. It says i have 0 impressions and i have been running it for a day. I have a $20 daily budget and I set the max cpc between $1-$2. If anyone knows a solution please let me know.

Read @Andy Black 's threads on AdWords. It should help a lot.

Yeah but its just to get business. Local business's are a lot of word of mouth.
So don't rule it out your in business to make money not to have a fancy website.

Yeah mate im going to try come up with a few more over the weekend. Turning them into B/W should be a easy enough task. Thanks but for the advice

I specialise in AdWords local lead gen.

From one of the posts on my blog:

The Main Styles of Local AdWords Campaigns
There’s two main styles of local campaigns:

1) Geo-modified search terms (“SEED” & Location)

e.g. +chiropractors +dublin

I make sure to add campaign negatives such as “job”, “jobs”, “course”, “courses”, etc…

2) Non geo-modified search terms (just the “SEED”)

e.g. [chiropractors]

IP target the location the client covers. I use exact match and try and get all the short-head permutations.

Done correctly, these two campaign styles shouldn’t cannabalise each other.

I think it's very important that you advertise locally. For one, it's cheaper. Order a bunch of nicely made postcard flyers for your business online. Get 500 of them. While you're waiting around for the internet side of things to pick-up, go to the best neighborhoods in town...you know, the gated communities with BMW's parked in the driveway, the old people communities, etc. and deliver them out. If you got $64 to spend, throw an ad on CL to pay someone to distribute them for you for 8 hours while you distribute another 500 or work on the internet side of things. Getting the first few customers is key while you're just starting out. It'll be faster if you advertise locally first.

Totally agree with this.
Dont spend money when you dont have to hand the flyers and leaflets out yourself yeah it may take a couple of days but that way you know the areas they've been delivered to and they have been put through the door.
Getting customers is the key do the work yourself and build up the money and clientele till the business is running sufficiently.
I wasnt meaning to be cheeky with what I was saying just its good talking a good game about websites and Adwords but if your not making money its actually costing you money.

I am using the geo-modified version. Although there is low search volume for most of them

You are right. Ive got to hustle. This wont come easy.

I am looking to get about 500 flyers or postcards made. I know most of the wealthy neighborhoods. Where should i place them? Mailbox? Front door? Car windshield?

Split test door hangers in the very wealthy areas vs well-off areas where yuppies live. From my experience, everyone I know in the wealthiest areas has a maid that either comes daily or weekly. They understand how much a maid should cost and are unlikely to pay your fee more than a couple times. Yuppies on the other hand need occasional cleaning and are less price sensitive.

Also, don't know if it has been mentioned before, but are you having your workers sign some sort of non-compete agreement that excludes them from stealing your clients? Without that, it is in the best interest of maids to cut out the middleman. They probably will still do it regardless, however it's better than nothing.

Yes i will be ordering 500 door hangers. 250 has one coupon code and the other 250 has another and i will split test just like you said.

After the phone interviews today if i decide to continue and have some in person interviews i will get a non compete and make them sign it.
