Just got done reading the first 40 pages within a half hour of the email coming in! Looks to be everything youve said it would be MJ, incredibly inspiring and a true wake-up call to "get off your as@ and do something!", because the life and freedom you are talking about dosent come to you. You have to go to it!

I especially liked the part about the MTV cribs episode that never happened! That made me smile and nod my head because of how true it is. And I think its something your books target audience will relate greatly to, as MTV cribs is a show that showcases what the rewards of "driving the fastlane" are all about.

It was very dissapointing to get to the last page of the PDF and not have the rest of it to keep reading!!! lol. Looking forward to the next chapter as soon as I get the book in my hands! :)

On one last note, thank you for quoting me in the beginning. That meant alot to me. It is an honor to be mentioned in your book, and I cant wait to join you in the fastlane very soon.

Thanks again Mike.

The number one thing I have always taken from MJ's story is that it is inspiring. I have several different drafts of the story saved on my different computers from over the years, and I make it a point to read it at least every other month or so (sometimes on days when youd least expect it...when Im overwhelmed in the office on a Monday morning or when Im feeling empowered on a Wednesday night at 1AM and cant sleep, and am looking for that story of someone who MADE IT BIG!). Reason being? It INSPIRES me. It tells the story of someone who came from an ordinary upbringing, and literally CHANGED their life by realizing; "The lottery is for dreamers, and no one is going to walk up and hand me millions of dollars for nothing. If I want to be rich, I'm going to have to get off my asss and DO IT!".

Its the same sort of pepped up feeling you get from watching any of the Rocky movies. :) It makes you want to immediatly get off the couch and DO something! For me, sometimes that means immediatly jumping on the computer to research and read. Sometimes it means grabbing my car keys and driving to Borders or Barnes and Noble to pick up a new book. Other times its as easy as just going out to my garage to see what I have to sell on Ebay or Craigslist, as his story ALWAYS gets me in the mood to MAKE MONEY!!!

If NOTHING else were to come out of his book, it is worth the read just to broaden your mindset. If you read the first 40 pages he posted and dont find yourself longing to read the next 250 (or however long the book is, lol), then perhaps the fastlane isnt for you. ;)

Im not looking for a "how-to" book in regards to getting rich, as I think he has taught me enough over the years to already equip me to do so. What I'm looking for is that next JOLT of motivation...that next JOLT of energy that screams, "Mike, youre not rich yet. What are you doing RIGHT NOW TO CHANGE THAT?!?" :)

All the best guys,

MJG

I just finished reading the book. Although I skip few chapters that talked about slowlane, I read word by word about Fastlane in the last few chapters.

I got the book yesterday and spent 5 hours last night and 5 hours this morning reading the book at Starbucks.

To me, the $5 coffee and 5 hours time on reading the $25 book in Starbucks pay off.

001.JPG

It's time to digest what I have learned and execute it.

I felt that the book is specifically written for me, because I am doing similar thing as MJ did for his company. We both server millions and deal with small businesses.

We both are doing lead generation, but with totally different revenue model and approach.

It's too early to tell what I did wrong, but I can definitely tell what I haven't done right. I got sidetrack by earning small money (not even good money) that slow me down on earning the big money. I miss calculate the return on investment, especially when TIME and FREEDOM are left behind.

Really! Driving on the fastlane isn't easy, but I have clean windshield now.

Anyway, I highly recommend MJ's book to those who can't make up their mind to pick up the book and read.

Book review:

I read the book this weekend. I was lucky enough to have read most of this over the last several years before the book was written because I basically devoured everything that was written on forums by guys like MJ when I was trying to learn how to build wealth. I can tell you that it works. In some sense MJ and others served as indirect mentors to me because I knew they were wealthy and I knew that's where I wanted to be. All I had to do was learn from them and implement what I learned. Not very complicated if you are getting the right advice, and just doing it. I'm confident if someone reads this book and implements what MJ teaches, you'll be wealthy. Seems like a crazy statement to make, but it's really that simple. The truth is, most people who buy the book will read it and then not do anything. The 1% who do go and do something will be wealthy. The game is easy. The problem is, most people decide to sit the whole game out, or play their whole life by the wrong rules. This book shows you the right way to play the game if your favorite color is money green like mine.

I'm glad you never gave up writing this book. I couldn't put it down, most parts had me lmao too. I'm lucky to have joined early but most of the book was new information. The n.e.c.t.s. and consumers compared to a producer point of view made me look at things differently today. Highly recommend this to everyone!!! Loe!!!! Process not events. Time to get out of the slowlane and into chuma mode.

MJ, you really out did yourself! To call this book great would be an understatement! I love the down to Earth logic and style. It really makes one believe in their self, that they too can scale mountains. I am not even done with the book yet, and I am pumped up to do something big!

PS: Mine came in a white USPS envelope.

...Now back to my READING!

I like how you really hammered down the idea that you can't get rich when you are paid via your time. I think that is a crucial element that some people don't understand.

They try to get a higher rate of pay, but the pay is still only multiplied by 40 by the end of the week. Why not have your rate of pay multiplied by 500 or even 5,000,000? With time you simply can not do this as you have pointed out you are not in control of time.

I was up till 2:30 in the morning reading the book last night, and only went to bed because I knew I was going to DIE trying to wake up for my 6AM alarm...lol. Like everyone said, to say the book is incredible is an understatement. It gives you a wake-up call in so many ways....it is like literally slapping you in the face with each turn of the page saying, "SEE! NOW do you see what youve been doing wrong!".

I am only halfway through it and cannot wait to bang out another hour or so tonight. I would be even further along, but theres so many thought provoking scenarios, I found myself reading certain sections over and over again as I took notes and highlighted sections.

I especially liked the part about the Pharoah's and the pyramids, as that is a PERFECT example of what MJ has been trying to teach us when he says that an Entrepreneurs growth is exponential, whereas slowlane growth operates on a completely linear scale.

As many of us suspected, the book is truly a life-changer if youre willing to 1-take the time to read it, and 2-use it to take the advice given in the book and TAKE ACTION!

In true fastlaner style, I got my book ultra quick. MJ WOW'ed me by doing a bit of research before writing a note inside the cover and getting it to me very fast! A testament to his own writing! I just started reading it yesterday, unfortunately i can not read it as fast as some of you all but i will certainly post a review as well. I didn't get a chance to take a cool picture like TC did but i will do that later today and let FB know how WOW'ed I was by customer service

I know I've been MIA a lot in the last 6-8mos, but this is so much more than what is posted in the forums or your blog!!!

About 1/3 through, just finished the section about the 5 different types of passive activities, the business I will be pursuing will most likely incorporate the human resource variety considering the business is currently 0% passive and can hopefully evolve into an info product which I believe falls under #3 for passive activities :)

I got my signed copy a few days ago and it's incredible! The book's also a long read in my opinion...

No doubt MJ helped me shave off YEARS of serious mistakes in my plan, because I've already began implementing his knowledge into my business strategy.

I knew a lot of the theories deep down, but all are so uncommon that MJ's confirmation and examples were what was life changing.

Let me tell you....this book makes you analyze your "daily routine" in ways that you couldnt imagine. After an extremely thought provoking night where I again stayed up waaaay too late reading and brainstorming), my 6AM alarm seemed even more annoying to me than usual today. I snapped the following picture at 7AM this morning as I commuted in rush hour traffic down one of the busiest highways in NJ to get to work (the "PARKING LOT" known as Rt.80 eastbound!). And all I could think about (or should I say, REMIND myself of!) with every passing mile marker in completely stop and go traffic was, "I was NOT born to do this for 40 years. Theres a better life out there and Im GOING to get it!!".

This book empowers you. I cant explain it to those of you who havent read it yet, but it is GOING TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

More to come.

Wow, its been a while since I last posted here but i glad to say I'm back. I always came back to the forum to see what was new but didn't post or reply to any of the topics. I'm not really sure why that was but now that I finally received MJ's new book, I feel inspired to come back. I've only read through the first 6 chapters but already feel like a whole new world is available to me. I just wanted to say thanks MJ, for writing a great book that will inspire not only me to be better but everybody else who decides to pick up your book. I will post my my official review once i have read the book completely and maybe a second time to make sure I understand everything it has to offer. Thanks again, MJ

Technique: Deep Diving into the book

View attachment 2092

First before I get onto subject, I must make a few comments on the book. The book is shattering and reshaping patterns in my life as things begin to crystalize in my mind - leaving me challenged to deal with "me". I am on my way to becoming sobered from my Slowlane "drunk driving". The "12 Step Program" to Recovery is translated into the "8 Parts" of this book. The scales have fallen from my eyes - I am faced with reality and my mortality.

Overall, I have been savoring the flavor of this book as I would my favorite meal as I ensure that I stop to ponder about questions, concepts, consequences, and actions. I have turned it into a "study-guide" as opposed to reading just any other book or 8 hour read. It may take me a few more weeks to work through the rest of the book to press out every drop of instruction, guidance, and life changing statement just as you would with the very best grapes in a winepress. Either way, you are left with a sweet or bitter taste (as to how the book speaks to you), but nevertheless, one that will brand and mark you - it is that impressionable.

Speaking from my heart, Thank you MJ for the book so that we all can see we have a second chance at life to make a difference for us and our families/loved ones.

[The Technique]
Through earlier posts, I mentioned that the autographed copy by MJ was too nice to begin marking up, so I purchased a secondary book that I deemed as my "study-guide" for highlighting and any note taking.

After reading through the first 100 (actually 103) pages of the book, I wanted to share a technique that I have been using to pull important concepts and points out of the book. This was a simple technique that I actually employed for studying the Bible earlier this year and later modified (i.e. categories/representation) to other types of books.

Since I have 4 highlighting colors available to me, I mapped each color to a category of my choosing. These colors represent the following:

Cyan/Blue - Attributes/Characteristics to Model
Green - Planning/Action/Reward
Yellow - Key Thoughts/Mind/Ideas/Creation/Vision (yellow doesn't show well on the forum)
Pink - Cautions/Failures/Challenges

Carefully consider the text you are highlighting to pull out the gems and nuggets in the book. When I go back to re-read, it guides my eyes to important areas to recall or for me to share with others (like with my wife). In the end, what will your pages look like?

Note: I selected a page out of the book to illustrate all four colors in use (so the highlighting does appear heavy), while other pages have minimal highlighting. It depends on the words that are jumping out to you. Another consideration is to refine/reduce the categories (& or conditions) and the number of colors you use. Jokingly, it is MJ's fault for putting so much great information in the book! Otherwise, we wouldn't have a need to highlight :)

View attachment 2093

I hope this helps someone to get more out of the book to serve as a future reference that stays before you to operate key concepts in the Roadmaps.

P.S Be careful on the selection of your highlighters so the ink does not bleed through the page.

Thank you...
Steven

Folks,

I've noticed a few of your have posted testimonials/reviews of Fastlane on your Facebook accounts ... I really, really appreciate this! These are really helpful to me in my promotion/marketing efforts ... unfortunately, if they are on Facebook I don't get to see them, and some awesome ones, I just simply miss!

So please, if you are posting on Facebook, AWESOME and THANK YOU! Second, can you let me know? Even better, post it here so I can have a record of your testimonial.

When someone thinks that this is the best wealth building book out there, I need to know that!!!! Traditional marketing and advertising can't hold a candle to consumer discipleship, testimonials, and word-of-mouth ...

If the owner of this testimonial I found on FB wants to come forth, Ill let him.

I 100% believe that I will be a millionaire within the next 5 - 10 years and I owe my future success to MJ DeMarco and the Fastlane Forum members (thefastlaneforum.com)! MJ has a new book coming out in a couple weeks called "The Millionaire Fastlane ", you can pre-order it on Amazon.com. I've already read it and I can honestly say it's one of the best books ever written on the subject of building wealth. No joke.

Some of the great comments on the "progress" thread I will move over here since that thread isn't really a progress thread any longer.

For me, the big news will not be sales, but how many people of those sales really like the book and think it is a "game changer" for their life.

Mission accomplished! :patriot:

Previously I mentioned that I didn't really expect to read much in the book that hadn't already been discussed on the forum, boy was I wrong! Thanks for writing such a great book, MJ.

Just FINISHED the book AND my Review. The Millionaire Fastlane Book Review - Part II

MJ, I will totally recommend this book to anyone and everyone interested. I loved it! I was particularly impressed with how you were able to keep true to the imagery (that we all had/expected) of the Fastlane analogy throughout the entire book. Well done!

Life changing? For sure!

On Chapter 30 right now. My book is seriously highlighted as well! I will be reading this book again as there's so much great info there.

This book so far will go down as #1 on my favorite book list. It's the absolute kick in the pants I've been needing for so long.

OK.. I purchased the book. I was delighted to use my pre-release discount. But I would of bought it at the full price anyway!

So here is my review and I will not make it to long as to not use up to much of your valuable time...

This year (2010) I bought several "Success" Oriented books from amazon. With the exception of The Millionaire Fastlane , all of the other books I bought I only read either the first few chapters and got board, or I read those books at least half way through it and got bored. So, I shelved those books as to create an impressive library for my friends.

BUT... The Millionaire Fastlane sits right here on my desk. I can't shelve it in to my "library to impress friends". Because It is going to be re-read again! Its the only book I bought in the last 12 months that I read all the way through.

This is something that I can really relate to. Plus I am a Chicagoan Like MJ, but I transplanted to Dallas TX. Phoenix is just way to Hot & Dry for me.

Anyway, if $25 bucks is going to break your bank to discover first hand what an "average joe" did to create a multi million dollar fortune then this is not for you. (you're a sidewalker). however, if you want to know the details of a rags to riches success story then this book is for you. If you own a website that you think could "potentially" impact millions, then this book is for you.

If after you have read the book and have questions or concerns... Come back to this forum and ask the author himself.

I have a few questions, but I have not posted them yet as I just finished reading the book.

Some thoughts about the book!

It is very good, I resisted outlining it but had to do it. The book is great at prioritizing, it is also great at contrasting concepts to make one think a different way. Another book "The Road Less Traveled" quoted often historically is about a path through life. The "Fastlane Code" is a no nonsense, to the point, financial book that wastes no time using the same "Road" concept which makes one think about the universality of a road. The author owns the road descriptions which communicate the behavior and mind set of the sidewalker, slowlaner, and fastlaner. This is a unique perspective which could not be explained in any other way with such effectiveness.

M Scott Peck always stated that his book just restated what people already knew, I think this applies to MJ's also in that it has a level of simplicity and the framework has no holes, it reconciles. For example I have referred to the concept of volume versus margins in many posts and now look at the same thing in context of scale versus magnitude. Same concept but a different slant, nevertheless a universal priority.

The priorities of "process" versus "event" is a major contrast along with the "producer" versus "consumer" concept, this may be called MJ's quadrant. I learned much from this concept especially with MJ's original slant on marketing. Marketing was boxed in very well and another educational concept for myself. I say this being heavily experienced in all of the above.

Finally I would like to say that the energy in this book is youthful in itself and one would suppose that the length of it is and was necessary because it had to overcome all criticism in advance, it is well qualified. It is extremely objective therefore is a major contribution which cannot be denied.

I loved your book the Millionaire fastlane I couldn't put it down first off. It was addicting like crack to a crack head lol bad analogy I know, but it really was that good. What you teach in your book should be taught at Harvard. But we all know they would not have that too much money involved in high end education where you owe a quarter million dollars by the time you get your high end prestigious degree. Passive income streams are the way to go as you teach in your book. Let time work for you, not against you, like in a traditional 9 to 5 job. I really relate to the whole Internet thing as being the best source of passive income but maybe I am just being biased because that is what I do. But who can argue with having the World at your fingertips 24 hours a day 7 days a week now that is real passive income.

I work on my blog like a maniac to enjoy the fruits of my labor while other people are playing video games, I am building my future. Anyhow great, great, book I even liked it better than Rich Dad Poor Dad which is saying a lot. You have a great writing style, and a sense of humor which made the book that much more fun to read, and learn from. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoyed your book as you can tell, and I will be recommending it to my family members. I also bought the 4 hour work week which was good but I could put that one down your book I couldn't so kudos to you.
