Some members recommended to use 1&1 before...So I tried them. They seem professional but a word of caution...they are on the paranoid side...
They won't activate your account until they speak to you...I registered some domains with them but was not activated instantly as it happened with other registrars such as godaddy. It was so depressing to go to other registrars and see my domain still available for grap...:bgh: especially that reading MJ's story about loosing one of his domains between his GF's house and his computer did not make things better for my psyche. :smxE: I was feeling somewhat sick.

I had to call them to activate my account instead of the 24 hour turn-around time they state on their website. I was told that they will perform the registration instantaneously....That was not true....I called back, and was told the registration will be completed in 1 hour....Second non truthful statement...As of now it's been 3 1/2 hours and my domains are still available....So what did I do? I went ahead and snatch the domains through GoDaddy....At least the .com ones for now. For the others they can wait for 1&1 people to get to them....Maybe when it's 8AM in London...
To me any business that have middlemen is bad business...GoDaddy has an automated way of registering domains, fast and quick. Now I understand why 1and1 pays for full page ads in magazines.
The moral of the story: Don't be cheap....Learn to spend well....Getting a domain name with a good registrar is Excellent spending....Maybe I saved 20 bucks, but I end up wasting the whole morning....
