The Mac vs. PC debate is interesting from a business point of view.

When Apple had a vast advantage on the PC, Steve Jobs held on to his concepts very tightly. If he would have had Gates' business sense and realized that the money was in the software, he could have licensed out his hardware and allowed other companies to produce Apple style hardware, but since he refused to, IBM spotted the chance to drive a wedge into Apple's advantage and opened up the PC technology to other manufacturers.

The PCs then essentially killed the market share of Apple with massive efficiencies in production, distribution and market penetration, despite being far behind in actual quality. Demand was so high that quantity became more important than quality.

It's ironic then, that it is actually Steve Jobs' fault that we are all using the inferior PCs!
