Hey Fastlaners!
So... user testing
I wanted to start thread dedicated to understanding people's thoughts, experiences, and advice regarding user testing, particularly its role in early-stage product development.
A good question to start with might be:
Why do some companies forgo user testing, even though it offers clear benefits like better website flows, finding pain points early and just better user experience that retains customers?
From my experience, user testing seems invaluable for refining product design and enhancing user satisfaction. My "guess" has always been that the upfront cost, resource allocation and time required might deter companies, especially startups. But after seeing how early feedback can pivot a product direction or improve user interaction significantly, I’m curious to hear your views.
Do you integrate user testing into your development cycle? If not, what holds you back?
I’ve seen firsthand how user testing can spotlight issues that even seasoned designers might overlook. Yet, I know it's not always part of the standard procedure in every company.
Many thanks,
Hosna
