In the book, MJ talks about "explosive and exponential growth"...

Some of you are saying that you did it mostly with SEO.

Can someone explain to me how is that possible?



I've been an affiliate for 5 years, I can understand exponential growth via advertising. It's very simple:

You run 1 website selling a product > product converts > you expand by advertising for example on adwords for 10 related keywords > you get 5-10x the result next day

This is instant scale. I really thought that this was the explosive growth MJ was talking about in his book.


I can't understand how can you achieve "explosive growth" with SEO, when it takes at least 6 months to rank for any given low-competition-keyword.

If someone can explain this to me, I would really appreciate it.

In MJs book he was showing his friend from Chicago he was getting 400 plus emails a day. His friend then suggested to him he should find a way to make money from that.

After that the process of building his business started... his first month was 400 bucks or something... and grew from there.

So he had just found a way to tap the massive traffic he was getting.. he had traffic before he was making money... he had a great base to start his business.

He still did an incredible thing.. but I agree getting that kind of traffic today is very hard unless you provide something others do not have... but competition is much higher these days compared to when MJ started out..

Fastlane success is RARE(again RARE, one more time RARE) because it's DIFFICULT.

Think about that quote, I have never met a successful entrepreneur who said "gee all i did was XYZ, clap my hands, turn around and stomp my feet and next thing you know I am driving this Gallardo!" Nope it was this huge long story filled with strategies and failed trials and market/consumer analysis. Almost like a battle plan from some 5 star army general attacking the market. An army general who was filled with self confidence, self-determined analytic abilities(this one is important because if you want someone to hold your hand and wipe your a$$ to the Fastlane or anywhere else, then you probably don't have this, and you will never get there), discipline and determination. These are all the traits these guys exude when they explain how they did it.

You are going to have to blaze your own path bro. You are going to have to put the puzzle pieces together yourself. Also follow what makes sense even if it means swallowing your pride and admitting your wrong.

MJ did a really good job of giving you the Fastlane foundation in his book by giving you a canvas to paint on, now it's up to YOU to paint the masterpiece.

But then again; are masterpieces a dime a dozen? nope.........

Did you ever notice that most of the replies in your own thread are implying you to take MASSIVE action and get to work instead of thinking about what you can't do? Re-read the book as it's very obvious that you haven't really understood it yet. No one will explain it to you here as most people are busy working their fastlane plans. You're not entitled to be convinced.

Try to read it and forget for a second all the things that you know about online marketing. Drop your make money blogger mentality and everything will make sense.

Not "all", some did, and those are the ones that made me start question my assumptions and really see things in a different way.

As I said, I just needed that someone with experience came to this thread and challenged my assumptions, show me why my assumption is wrong in a logical way.

Like MJ did with his last post when he said "I've never reached saturation with SEO"... that was quite interesting... I had a wrong assumption and by challenging it and showing me that it was wrong, it shifted my way of thinking.

That's the kind of "advice" I need. That's how I learn and grow.

Not these guys coming here and telling me that "everything worthy is not easy to get" or to read the book again.

I REALLY find that offensive.

I REALLY appreciate the advice I got from a few people that posted on this thread: MJ, JamItFast and Vigilante.

Those were the only people that added real value to this thread and gave constructive answers.

They challenged my assumptions and made me see things from a different perspective.

The others just kept repeating non-sense stuff like "everything worthy is not easy to get", "re-read the book", "you are just looking for instant gratification", "you want an easy way out".

That's not advice, that's a barnum statement, it applies to EVERYONE, in EVERY situation and its USELESS.

I can go in ANY forum, under ANY topic and give the exact same advice without knowing any better and it still would apply. It's garbage.

It doesn't make your life better, it doesn't challenge any assumptions, it doesn't make you think differently, it doesn't change your perspective, it doesn't make any impact whatsoever.

It's offensive to give such "advice" to someone who is struggling and is really looking for a way around a problem.

your fundamental thought process is flawed.

as an affiliate, you buy traffic at X and get it to convert to Y. make the spread.

affiliates make a commission on other peoples product.

instead create one.

before you do, go back, re read all of vigilantes stuff, Patrick stuff, and MJs stuff.

now if you are selling someone else's stuff, you are limited by what they set as a price (no locus of control there)
if you create your own product you can let the market set the price, by creating, or adding value.

you are also used to selling 1 product, where as as a product creator, we know that the money comes on the back end. our front end products pays for our customer acquisition.

to give you an example. customer acquisition costs $60. we lose roughly $40 bucks to acquire a customer, but up sells and other value adds increase this to an AVERAGE of $116 per customer acquired. once we taped our our merchant accounts for volume, we turn to back end monitization, so we utilize the emails and phone numbers we have acquired, and begin monetizing there with a call center. now we can see as much as $187 over a couple months from each customer.

Emailing affiliate products that are in line with what our customer wants, and is tied into the customer demographic can raise our income to over $200-250 Per customer over a 6 month period, and over $300 over a 12 month period.

your assumptions come from the affiliate model, where you have no long term value generated from your actions today. its a very shallow pool you have to play in, and as a consequence it breaks alot. campaigns, fail, or cant scale.

you also have 2 major things in your way that will keep you shackled to poverty, or just "enough" money. never true freedom, or success.
1. you have to be willing to fail. fail alot, fail often, fail hard. AND THEN KEEP WORKING ON IT. failure is part of a process. the process is more important than the results.
the successful results comes from the process and all the failures.
Go back to the book, look at the CENTS model. test your ideas against that model, not the forum. in a relatively short period of time you managed to piss off alot of really good people here WHO ARE ALREADY SUCCESSFUL. doing that says you have a talent for polarizing answers. great. see if that could be put to some use someplace else, such as your business.

2. your head space is cluttered with all the most limiting thoughts. instead of HOW CAN I DO THAT, you instead default to the lowest common denominator of the slow lane, YOU CANT DO THAT.
I ahve a friend who drove over 60M hits (yes 60 million) last year alone with SEO. how he does that, god only knows, but then again i dont do SEO. any argument around SEO not working he would laugh at. he doesnt like Paid traffic since he mastered SEO. the thing is he didnt start with you cant do that, he started with HOW can I do that. the rest grew out of the process.

get out of your own way, stay out of your heads limiting space, listen to some of these people, and go try to break any rule that you think exists, and im sure you will learn so much doing that one process, you will be able to come back here to answer all these questions yourself.

bottom line. be a creator not a consumer,
create your own products
create a funnel that deepens your value per customer
and you will find that you can afford even expensive customer acquisition costs for your product.
then print money.

And to the guy you disrespected (Lighthouse) - I can tell you that he's had so many visitors to his website on one day that it took the server down. I think it was something like 150 visitors per *SECOND*. And he did it without SEO or PPC. But since you disrespected him, good luck having him help you reach your 10,000 visitors a day goal.
