I was talking to my kids today and remembered a story from a few years back. Thought I would share it with you. It's not business related, just a tall tale.
Quite a few years ago my wife and I lived in a run down mobile home while we built our new house. I was working night shift and sleeping in the tin can during the day was tough. We finally got the new brick house built and moved in. It was quiet and comfortable all year around.
I'm a city boy but we built our house out in the country. I love the peace and quiet. About 10 feet from our back door was a 60 acre cow pasture. About 500 acre field of corn across the street and about 100 acres of corn behind us. Pretty secluded.
One morning, about 9 am I heard an animal bellowing and it sounded bad. So I jump up and head toward the noise. I look out of our kitchen window to see a 2000 pound bull staring at my new house. He was at the fence with his head lowered and pawing the dirt. He was mad about something and was letting everyone know. I went outside and spooked him away. I told my country girl, wife about it and we both thought it was strange but couldn't figure out what got him upset.
A few days later I hear the same noise and jumped up to see the bull at it again. This monster was ready to run through the fence and charge my house. I kept watching him through the window to try and get a clue to what was wrong. I decided to shoo him away again to get some sleep. Before he runs he craps on the ground. Alright, a clue.
After he was good and gone I climbed the fence and stood by the pile of crap. I faced my house to see what the bull was seeing. Eureka! I could see my reflection in the storm door covering one of the rarely used exterior doors. This bull was mad at the bull he was seeing in the storm door and was ready to charge. I told the farmer next door about it and they moved him to another pasture.
I could just hear the insurance agent now, "Your new house got attacked by a what?!"
I'll bet you won't see something like that in the city.
