I first heard about bitcoin in 2012 from gold community in which one of the leading influencer in gold and silver concluded bitcoin is a scam.
I missed out the entire bitcoin and tech stocks wave in the 2010s.
There is a time for everything, just not the same time for everything.
According to the goldbugs theology, this is just the beginning of the end, with a few more predictions about to unfold.
(1) China pioneering Yuan denominated trade backed by Shanghai gold-exchanging to facilitate ease of buying gold using Yuan if they don’t trust the Yuan (happening)
(2) Central banks dedollarise into gold (already happening)
(3) Western central banks, bullions banks have sold too much physical gold to suppress to manipulate price down and they don’t have much physical gold left except on paper “gold receivable” (yet to be proven). Some believe that Fort Knox gold is not there, at least the 8000 tons in full quantity (yet to be proven).
(4) Paper leverage to real physical silver are at all time high and could lead to explosive short squeeze (yet to be proven)
(5) China holds undeclared gold reserves much larger than official reserves (yet to be proven)
(6) A return to gold standard (yet to be proven). There was talk about a 40% gold backed BRICS currency for many times but it led to nowhere with no official progress.
