Hey I'm BigRig, I live on the East Coast. I'm currently reading Unscripted and finally got around to creating an account here!
I read MFL in January and immediately kicked off the process of being a fastlaner. I started a project I've been debating doing for a long time. I launched it in February with a lot of interest and some people even happily paid for it! (its only $20 for the year). The project is an aggregator site of a certain product that targets a large DIY community (not sure how specific I should/can get on here). Man, I felt like I was firing on all cylinders while I was working on that.
I got tons of comments on social media like "you are a hero", "this is genius", etc. My paying members depend on it weekly. Feedback loop was running full speed. But still, not a lot paying users. So I'm assuming its just not enough value just yet. Haven't paid for any marketing and hoping I won't have to.
I took a step back to figure out how to improve the site, which I'm starting work on now.
The goal written on the wall in my office is to have 250 paying users by December.
Happy to chat more about my project if people are interested. Otherwise, I'm here to learn more from others and hopefully offer up some of the things I've learned so far.
