Hello all,
i just wanted to write a little about what I am doing in terms of ecommerce. The wealth of information on the web has led me to find a hosted shopping cart, the niche that I want to do, and also basic seo so that I can rank up on google.
Selecting your niche is one of the most important things, and I did a comparative seo analysis on key competitors for my keyword and selected the keyword with the at least 100 searches per day, and one that has low competition, that is my eccomerce domain name now. I also selected the niche with the most growth potential based on the current trends. My niche will flourish based on the recent changes in state and federal laws as well, and it has been growing exponentially the past 5 years.
So far the mechanics of my site are in place, my basic payment method is paypal but I am applying for a merchant account. I also filed a sole proprietorship dba in the state of delaware for its tax breaks. Got an EIN from the fed and a business license from Delaware.
Since my business model is dropship, the most difficult part about this is finding a reliable distributor/manufacturer willing to dropship. After many calls, I found willing to dropship, but applying for a reseller account has been a bit delayed since I have been so busy at my regular job, and the sales rep being out of town. One of the people at the company said the the minimum initial order was originally $5,000, but now its lower. Quite and investment, I know...
So anyway, wish me luck on opening a dropship account, I'll keep this post updated. As for the site, I will reveal when its done. I don't think any of you can steal my idea and do a better job anyway, but maybe im cocky
