Hey guys, I’ve recently I am a 17 year old high school student and recently started offering interior car detailing and wanted to share what I’ve done so far and get some feedback on my marketing plan.
Right now, I don’t have any more bookings lined up. My plan is:
I’ll probably only be running it another month before the snow hits, but in the spring I want to add exterior detailing and really push harder. My goal is to replace this business with my dog walking because it's higher ticket and more scalable. Currently do 2k a month dog walking with minimal marketing work. Just show up for the walks and the customer books in on the calendar and sends me the money for the walks.
Any advice or feedback on the marketing side for the detailing would be appreciated!
- Watched hours of detailing tutorials and researched best practices.
- Invested $560 CAD in quality supplies that will last a long time.
- Built a website on Wix with an AI template and set up a Google Business Profile.
- Tested Facebook ads – spent $100 CAD, got 4 leads, booked 1, but it fell through.
- Reached out to 10 of my dog walking clients – got 2 bookings. First detail took 3 hours, charged $90 (gave a discount), and the client paid me $145. Second booking is this Sunday.
- Got 7 reviews on my Google Business Profile (including from the first job, with photos and fake reviews from friends).
Right now, I don’t have any more bookings lined up. My plan is:
- Keep building reviews on Google to improve local ranking.
- Learn and run Google Ads.
- Post on Nextdoor as a local high school student offering affordable interior detailing.
- Test out door hangers in nearby neighborhoods.
