Hi everyone, my name is Ben, I live in the UK and I'm 16 years old. For a while now I have been looking for ways to make money since I don't want to be trapped in a 9 to 5 day-in, day-out for the rest of my life. Put simply, I want freedom. I want to be able to live wherever I want, do whatever I like whenever I like and, most importantly, I want to retire my parents.
I'm currently on Chapter 26 of 'The Millionaire Fastlane ' and the book has definitely given me some food for thought and a lot of useful information but the truth is that I'm struggling to find somewhere to start. I understand that I must build up my own assets or 'vehicles to wealth' but the five business seedlings mentioned in the book seem unaccessible to a 16 year old. Rental systems, distribution systems and human resource systems all seem to require start up money that I simply don't have. Adding to this, after coming up with ideas for Computer/ Software systems, I found that all of them had already been done to a much higher standard that I am currently capable of producing and content systems are most likely not the best option for me as, as a 16 year old, I am not the most knowledgeable person and I have not yet specialised in a certain topic at school, meaning I won't have much 'content' to sell.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there another business seedling that would be ideal for me? If you were in my shoes, what would you do to begin? I understand that this may sound like I'm asking for a 'step-by-step guide to getting rich quick!', but I assure you this is not what I'm looking for. I know that to be truly successful I must somewhat carve my own path to and through the fastlane, but, like I said before, I simply don't know where to start.
On a side note, I would just like to mention how thankful I am for having the opportunity to be a part of this forum. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone and learning more about the fastlane and finances in general (after all, due to there being very few classes in my highschool regarding finance, I have noticed recently that I struggle with my financial literacy, so that's something that this forum will hopefully help me improve on!).
Thanks in advance,
Ben
