Saffron is considered as red gold due to it's rarity in the spices. The thing I noticed is there is a high price difference of saffron from where I live and between the western countries. According to what I found online.
I can get 1 gram saffron for 2 dollars here and cost of saffron in US as the table above is 6.5 dollars at least. So, the profit margin in exporting even 1kg saffron from here to US is too high that it can cover the delivery charges and import export charges very easily and still leave a good profit margin in my hand. But i am asking this here to know if there is a catch or am I missing something as i have never been to import export business. Thanks.
