Hey Everyone,
I would appreciate your feedback on a business proposal I was recently presented with. A long-time friend of mine started a pressure washing business six months ago in Orange County, CA, and asked if I wanted to partner with him. So far, I'm impressed with his hustle. Despite only advertising on Yelp, he's been able to average $400 a day.
He wants to scale, but he needs help managing the backend, specifically with marketing, customer relationship management, and finances. That's where I'd come in.
However, I have some concerns. Pressure washing typically involves a one-time service, with customers potentially returning only once every year or two. Additionally, the low barrier to entry makes it easy for new competitors to emerge.
One potential way to add value is to complement the pressure washing service with an additional service, such as sandblasting. It requires a contractor’s license and a higher upfront investment, which could help us differentiate and command higher prices. The problem is, we don't have a contractor's license.
Am I overthinking this? My goal is to scale the business to $40,000 a month in revenue. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the potential risks and opportunities here. Thanks in advance for your insights.
