Reserve app name before creating app?

Hi all,

We are planning to build an app soon to complement our website. We own the .com and are filing a trademark for our name. The name is not currently taken in the app store but I am slightly worried someone might come along in the meantime and create an app with our name and then we won't be able to use it.

Is it possible to create a very basic app and put it in the app store just to reserve the name while we build the real version of the app? I'm thinking we could then do an update to the real version.
