What's up everyone.
I posted a thread a few months ago and have been nose to the grindstone ever since. Here is the reality of where I stand:
The Personal & Financial Stats:
• Family: My newborn daughter is healthy, happy, and growing every day. Her smile is my "Why!"
• The Day Job: My role at the Amazon DSP turned out to be a management position from the jump. It taught me a lot over the last three months, but the stress and physical demands are too much. I'm either breaking my back, or glued to my phone monitoring the progress from 9am to 9pm...
• Debt Reduction: I’ve caught up on all statement balances. My total CC debt is down to $5,000.
• The Car Pivot: I’m currently repairing my old paid-off BMW. Once it’s road-ready, the plan is to sell the Tesla and clear the remaining $19,000 loan.
The Hyatt Timeshare Roadblock:
I’ve been at war trying to email, call, and escalate my way out of this Hyatt timeshare. Currently, it looks like there are only two exits: pay it off ($30,000) or default (destroying my credit by 100 points for 7 years).
^^ I’d love some feedback here: Given the goal of building a business, is the credit hit worth the $30k "exit fee," or should I grit my teeth and pay it down?
The "Transition" Plan:
In my last post, MJ expressed concern about how this high-stress Amazon role would drain my "off-hour" energy. He was right... I’m burnt out. To protect my mental bandwidth for the Fastlane, I’m moving toward the service industry.
I applied to two restaurants today for server/bartender roles. I also have a dishwashing interview lined up as a fallback thanks to my friend. The goal is to trade the 10-hour days of blistering sun and heavy labor for a social environment with tips and, more importantly, a clearer head when I get home.
The Path Forward:
My immediate focus for the next quarter is to secure the restaurant gig, get started on the BMW repairs, and keep the CC debt trending toward zero. I’m done trading my entire being for a DSP paycheck; it’s time to reclaim the energy needed to pursue bigger goals now.
I'll update this thread to stay accountable.
