The mindset of "there's gotta be a better way to do this."

After doing the same few tasks in a row, instead of just repeating them over and over to get them done. You need to think about if there is a better way to do what you are doing. It could be, buying a machine to do it, hiring a person to do it, doing it more efficiently or finding a way to skip the task altogether.

Discernment - Wikipedia

Discernment is a good quality. Being able to judge and perceive value or what’s in your best interest. Being able to make keen observations and powerful distinctions.

I think reading self-help books is a starting point for gaining a wealthy mindset. But you still have to go further by surrounding yourself with these rich people and really knowing how they live in real life.
.there is a proverb that says '' When you walk with 5 rich, the sixth rich is you '' This proverb is also valid in the opposite direction. .

I agree with that proverb but how can someone make friend with rich people if that someone's surrounding is shit and all the rich people in his country made their money through politics and none of them are true entrepreneurs?

I think in this case it would be really difficult to do it.

I think the whole game is about constantly choosing the best values or ideas that you have been exposed too, and then a separate game would be the act of climbing the mountain towards those ideals. Knowledge vs execution. Theory and practice. I believe working on critical and analytical thinking is the key. Not just for financial success, but for all aspects of life. Self help books may help with exposure to ideas, but the real learning happens when you make decisions and actions that get your objectives done. Also, no one said you can't do both at once.

Lets use a rather uncommon analogy. You can scan underground and research for the best place to dig for gold, which is important, but the real progress is made by picking up the shovel and digging. Once you reach rock, move on to the pickaxe. You might find some other metals/minerals along the way, which is a pleasant surprise. You might find a layer of dense rock that can hurt your progress, so you search for better equipment and new machinery. It starts raining, you make a tent. As long as this process of mining is aligned with your objective of reaching gold, how can you fail?

(side note: habit forming is about frequency, not streaks. Better to have 010110101101011101000011101111010010001 than 000111111111111111111000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000)

If I were to give you the best mining site available, how would you start your excavation for gold?

This analogy is essentially what @biophase mentioned:

The mindset of "there's gotta be a better way to do this."

After doing the same few tasks in a row, instead of just repeating them over and over to get them done. You need to think about if there is a better way to do what you are doing. It could be, buying a machine to do it, hiring a person to do it, doing it more efficiently or finding a way to skip the task altogether.

I've found much peace with this forum's subjects by simplifying and thinking from first principles.

I hope this helps.
