You either move away from pain or towards your goals. By setting "pain points" in NLP and knowing what outcome you don't want isn't that going against the Law of Attraction. Wouldn't you be attracting the things you don't want? I'm confused somebody please clear this up. This youtube video explains pain points at 4:15

As MJ mentions in his book, the "law" of attraction is an overhyped New-Agey way of saying that you will get what you think about. Not that your mind causes the universe to manifest these things in your life - unless you are psychic, your mind is only controlling your body/behavior. Instead, your focus will determine your actions, which will determine your path and the results you see.

So, since the goal is to steer your mind towards the results you want, I think that the NLP concept of "pain points" would work fine, as long as you also give your mind a "carrot" to go with the pain point "stick".
