Thought this was an interesting article. I also think the shared workshop/hackerspace businesses mentioned in it are cool. I have seen this done with woodworking successfully before in my town but never though of it being applied to a prototyping lab. It would be really handy and fun to have access to a laser cutter or a hydro former.
