Hi all,
I wanted to share a quick update. My name is Matt, and I recently launched a company called Fat Thins. We make simple and delicious potato chips using only potatoes, beef tallow, and sea salt. Entering the CPG world is something I had thought about for years, but the amount of work always felt like more than I could take on. Earlier this year I read The Great Rat Race Escape , and the story of the couple who built a soup business pushed me to stop thinking about it and start building.
From the initial idea to our first production run took a little under a year. The process has been demanding, but it has also been one of the most rewarding projects I have ever taken on. I have three young kids and a full time job, so progress often came from short bursts of work late at night or early in the morning. Even so, I kept reminding myself that escaping the rat race requires effort, discipline, and a willingness to move against what feels conventional.
Our first launch is next week, and I am excited to see where this goes. If anyone wants to check out the product you can visit fatthins.com. I want to thank MJ for the mindset shift and the practical frameworks that helped me take an idea and turn it into something real.
