So I have been doing SEO for YEARS, including PPC. I also own my own company which is a small SEO firm. I have enough clients to make about 5k a month. But that is nothing, and where I see myself heading is not where I want to go. I don't want brick and mortar or having to invest time with clients. Or compete in a retardedly saturated marketing like SEO for clients.
I just went through a brutal breakup with a girl I was batshit in love with, so I went through a small depression and my business suffered. She recently ran off with my friend and I found out about in a very unpleasant way. So eventually after wanting her back, I just said F*ck em' both. The best motivator is revenge anyway! I am going to spend the next 3 years not worrying about women or being "Cool" and work on my business goals.
So my goal now is by the time I am 30 (I am 27 now) is to get to a consistent 40k a month of PROFIT. Realizing the pitfalls of my current business, I want to start things that will be more automated and less time consuming. Who cares if you make 40k a month if you are tied to an office 60 hours a week.
The other day a website I created to promote an affiliate product which never made it to marketing stages got a sale, I have no idea how. But seeing $100 bucks just dropped into my paypal when I didn't even do anything got me reinvested in it. If I can get this up to 3-5 sales a day, that's a big chunk of income! (300-500 per day). So I will be pushing this product now via SEO and media buys. (ppc for this niche is too expensive).
So my goals to make 40k a month include.
-PPC Campaigns for the right niche including building an authority site along with it
-SaaS development. Although I am not a programmer, I want to create something that will build a solid customer base. Think a few hundred clients paying $100 bucks a month would be nice!
-Mobile App Development which is another great case of passive income.
So these are the methods I am approaching to get the lifestyle I want. It's not exactly building something for a multi million dollar buy out, but more of a Tim Ferris method. I figure with 40k a month I could live the lifestyle I want. Basically have a relatively upscale place to live anywhere, travel, pursue my hobbies, get bitches, you know.
I am going to be updating this thread with all the projects I am working on and income changes, losses and failures. You know why I will update this thread as opposed to lots of people who stop? Because I got nothing else to do but achieve this. I got revenge as my motivator.
