Hi,

I'm Matt a contract software engineer from the UK.

The most important news first, I have a baby on the way. Due in January next year. My first child, I know that after he is born life is not going to be the same again.

The next important news. I'm already executing on my business idea. It's software, I'll post the details in a journey thread. I'm excited to get it launched.

What brought me to fastlane? Unlike the book, I didn't have one FTE, its been a gradual build up from several years of working in London.

It's a combination of: A morning commute jammed into a sweaty overcrowded carriage. Long days writing code only to see the work thrown away when requirements change. Having to bypass a gang selling drugs on my doorstep and paying expensive rent for the privilege.

I've since moved out of London. The feeling that I need to have my own business system hasn't gone though. I won't give up my time for money anymore.

I've listened to the TMF and Unscripted hundreds of times.

I executed last year, took three months off from contracting. Built a theme for a CMS and launched it. It was and still is a good theme.

The elation from the first sale was incredible. Then a couple more sales. A total of three sales in a few days.

Then no one else bought it.

3 months full time work for less than $900. Then the first sale wanted a refund to boot.

That project didn't follow the CENTS framework. No demand (niche CMS), low barrier to entry... Etc. Lesson learnt.

Big thanks to MJ for his books. I look forward to meeting like minded souls here and sharing my journey. If anyone needs coding / software advice happy to help.
