If you need a bit of an a$$ kicking, read this whole thing, I dare you

I gave my friend some advice today:

He told me his plan to make $5k/mo by May

Naturally, as anyone would do after the Fastlane Summit and the constant chopping down of limiting beliefs all weekend, I asked:

“Why not 10 or 15k/mo?”

He answered, I don’t have enough testimonials.

I said, “how many leads turned you down due to lack of testimonials?”

“None. I guess the issue is my niche is so small”

I replied, “Don’t niche me, someone’s making millions selling those little tooth pick umbrellas for cocktails”

Him: “I guess you’re right. I’m just lacking leads. I’ve been working on an ad campaign”

So I said, “how much are you spending on diesel and coffee” @Andy Black

“Not enough”

Rogainer: “Your business is like ours, high ticket and very personal. we haven’t closed a single deal without a real in person relationship.”

Now I have to give him an anchor to make a stretch goal like 10-15k more achievable:

“We are nearing end of negotiations on a $30k/mo deal. Client for several years. Once you scale, ads might be effective but right now you should be knocking on doors”

Him: “Yeah you right”

After the conversation, I spent some time in my head, and my words began to reflect back on me.

Our $30k/mo deal is big... in the context of my friend.

The harsh reality is that this deal is way overdue for us. We have a few other small deals in the pipeline but nothing like that.

So naturally my thought goes to: “why settle for 1 30k/mo deal? Why not a 100k/mo deal? Why not 10 more of these deals?”

Reality kicks in further..

When was the last time I cold called? Weeks ago

How many doors have I knocked on? None

How many people have I reached out to for referrals? Not enough..

So what meant to be an a$$ kicking for my friend turned into an a$$ kicking for myself (which I needed since I wasn't privileged enough to receive a note in my pocket from @Vigilante ;) )

And I hope if you’re reading this, you are kicking your own a$$ a bit

Let’s just say I’m going to do tomorrow a little bit different than I did today... LETS GET IT!

The summit made me realize I was just making excuses. I had found a comfortable spot and was just coasting. I am capable of more and need to get my a$$ to work. At the same time, I need to push and motivate others. Motivating them helps motivate me. Talk the talk while walking the walk.

Sleep is for the weak.

Yep, definitely needed an asskicking.

I'm starting out on Amazon and I asked myself "how many products have you looked at?" 10-15 or so.

"When was the last time you did anything Amazon related?" Last week.

"How many videos have you watched on product research?" 2-3

"How many high potential products did you find?" Two.

"How many units did you buy from them?" None

"How many potential suppliers did you contact?" None

"How much did you sell this month?" Nothing.

Time to get my a$$ in gear.

In the same boat man.

The true measure is what you put into it.

I've been coasting too long on some early successes.

Glad everyone is changing their avatars, I didn't catch your forum name at the Summit.

I too have been coasting on early "successes". That aren't exactly successes.. just the best I've ever done.

Totally. Glad we have a community where we can kick each others a$$ daily (I mean motivate). We're all definitely capable of more.

$30K/mo profit sounds sexy. $100k/mo profit sounds super sexy. All the sh*t I could do with that kind of cash.

I wish. It's revenue.
