My WP blog got hacked!

Yes, it happened. My Wordpress blog got hacked and the hacker decided to host a bunch of illegal files in there - which all got indexed by google. I removed all the files and am currently trying to "DE-index" the pages with the help of Google Webmaster Tools.

How did it happen?
I was running the WP 2.5 version and didn't bother updating to 2.7. Now I understand that updates are made because previous versions have bugs, security loopholes and so on, so if you are using WP - UPDATE asap!
