WHO~ Married mother of one. Crappy marriage stabbed to death by financial woes (not giving up on that either). Daughter of Slowlaner and Sidewalker (Divorced). Totally determined. Honestly, TMF saved my life. I was sinking in an ocean of "positive thinking" (directed at lost women). Knowing that I didn't want "get rich easy" and being told over and over again there's no such thing as "get rich quick". So depressing. I'm eternally grateful this book randomly fell into my lap.

WHERE I WAS BEFORE MFL (1 week ago)~ Depressed. Getting sick once a week. Resentful of my husband and sometimes my daughter. Feeling like NO ONE understands me and quesioning why I can't just get in line behind the worker bees. Looking for another "job". Lazy, sitting on the couch. KNOWING that I was worth more than this but feeling like I was just a waste of space.

WHERE I AM NOW (1 week later)~ It took me 2 days to read MFL. I read until my eyes shut down at 3am and finished the next day over lunch. Since then I've lost 5lbs taking accountability for my life. I've cleaned out my whole house of old crap that's been weighing us down. I've saved $1000 in my savings account that my partner understands is the do not touch unless dying fund. That's up from no savings account and -$37 in our checking account.

I read 2 books since then, 'Awaken the Giant Within' by Tony Robbins and 'The 4-hour workweek' by Timothy Feriss. One I downloaded on audio, the other I checked out at the library to save funds.

I have 2 ideas I'm equally excited about, BOTH aimed at fufiling a need and adding value to people's lives. The first one I have up and running and am dedicating 3 hours a day to it's production (low-cost). The second I'm partnering with my organic SEO specialist husband and we're pooling our resources to figure out how to make it a reality (high-cost). One is doable right now, the other is going to take time but we're determined.

MY GOALS FOR NEXT 7 DAYS (2 weeks post MFL)~ Create one blog post a day (for the queue) for project #1, Read all of the Fastlane Forum GOLD threads, Read one more book (suggestions welcome), Exercise/Meditate in the morning as before, Get ALL ideas down for project #2 to present to resources and collect info for steps we need to take.

Will update progress thread next Wednesday! Thanks for tuning in!

Seems you've had your awakening. Welcome.

Book recommendations are all over this site as, by our very essence, we all strive to learn and improve.

I would suggest looking at what you want to become and choose your books accordingly.

The E-Myth Revisited might be a good place to start.

Cashvertising by Drew Eric Whitman is often recommended, and personally I think 80/20 Sales and Marketing by Perry Marshall is a must.

Week 2
Goals Acheived: Read about half of the GOLD posts on the forum. Would like to re-read them, took longer than I thought looking up terms and concepts I'm not familiar with but all and all I did well. I DID NOT end up making 1 blog post a day for my blog concept but instead took a lot of time to re-vamp some ideas. Decided to blog closer to home offering a voice for a niche group of creative women, specifically mom and sort of tracking honestly what it's like to run a creative business and have kids. The response so far has been great.

I have to find something I WANT to continually write about and expound on. Is this breaking the "do what you love" rule?

Been pondering whether or not I can make money on my talent. I'm an artist- I sew, knit and write. I've won awards for all of those. I know in order to make the kind of money I want I need to be exceptional but I'm wondering if this is truly out of my reach.

Side note: I was about 5 ft. from getting hit by lightening yesterday. I was trying to get my rooster back into the coop during a lightening storm and lightening hit our tree about 5 ft. away from me. I'm feeling shaken up and energized.

Book read: Organized for Success, Top Executives and CEO's reveal the organizing principles the helped them reach the top. ((Good with useful tips, ESPECIALLY for time management))

Ideas are all down on paper for project number 2. My husband and I also used date night to discuss the idea and I think we have a much better understanding of what the other sees for the project. Our next goal is to figure out what It's going to take to get this monster idea made. It's really big and we're not even sure how to start small.

Goals for this week~ Stick to the plan: use my daily planner and stick to the time slots no matter how little time they are. Every moment counts. Read one more book (thank you for the reccomendations). Keep at the GOLD threads and take as long as I need to to fully understand them. Finish my prototypes for my shop, photograph them and get them up in the shop, even if EVERYTHING else isn't done. Make a client profile assessment for project #1 and #2.

Hot yoga daily/40 oz. of water/energizing breakfast smoothies/stay on my game

Side note II: TOTALLY lost momentum as of last Friday. Not sure what happened but I woke up completely unmotivated. Is burning out a real thing or a lame excuse? Should I be dedicating more time to turning off and powering down? As a recovering perfectionist It's really easy to second guess my efforts for fear that I can do more.
